  • Patent number: 10393630
Abstract: An automated multiple-sample processor for fluid samples includes a plurality of piston pumps which have a sample opening, a cylindrical housing and an axially displaceable piston and which are removably mounted in a support frame. The two spiral springs are both designed either as extension springs or as compression springs. In the case the two spiral springs are provided as the extension springs with a release lever in a first installation position, the triggering of the release lever results in the piston being pushed into the cylindrical housing. In the case the two spiral springs are provided as the compression springs with the release lever in a second installation position, which is rotated by 180° with respect to the first installation position, the triggering of the release lever results in the piston being pushed out of the cylindrical housing.

  • Publication number: 20170343788
Abstract: A specimen chamber for transmitted light microscopy includes a chamber body having a specimen space that is sealed off in a transmitted light direction on opposite sides by transparent first and second observation windows, respectively, a seal being interposed in each case. First and second clamping elements are configured to fix the two observation windows to the specimen space. The clamping elements comprise observation openings into the specimen chamber. The first observation window comprises a first plane-parallel shoulder that protrudes into the first observation opening of the first clamping-element so as to fit exactly. The second observation window comprises a second plane-parallel shoulder that protrudes into the second observation opening of the second clamping element so as to fit exactly. The two seals are resistant to high pressure. The observation windows and the seals each consist of a plastomer.

  • Patent number: 9618499
Abstract: A diffusion chamber for determining different parameters of an aqueous substance includes a vertical central cylinder having a sample chamber for receiving a substance sample and a needle-shaped pH-measuring sensor having a measuring tip which is brought into contact with the substance sample. A spectrophotometer having glass-fiber optics is configured to penetrate the substance sample. A gas supply into the sample chamber is configured to provide a variable gas exposure of the substance sample when determining parameters. A needle of the pH-measuring sensor is inserted into an obliquely extending groove of a slid-in sample slide. A sealing ring on the sample slide is pressed against the central cylinder by means of an inserted spacer ring, the sample chamber is tightly sealed with respect to gases from the surroundings of the diffusion chamber, and a minimum distance is maintained between the lower collimating lens and the substance sample.

  • Publication number: 20090188906
Abstract: A high-temperature tube furnace for pyrolysis includes a twin-hole ceramic tube including a pyrolysis capillary concentrically arranged within a sintering heat tube which is concentrically arranged within a thermally insulated tube housing. At least one heating tube holding element that is electrically insulative and high-temperature resistant is provided and includes at least three pins disposed radially about the sintering heating tube. Each pin is mounted to the tube housing via a clamp in such a way that the pins are adjustable in the radial direction so that the sintering heating tube is removably disposed between the tips of the pins. The sintering heating tube is connected to a voltage source for applying a heating current to thereto.

  • Publication number: 20070127896
Abstract: A method and apparatus for drilling a bore hole into ice by use of a water-heated hemispherical structure of circular cross-section and predetermined diameter for sinking a borehole into the ice following and closing a previdously formed pilot bore hole of lesser diameter, and, above it, in axial alignment therewith, an azimuthally circumferential gap for spraying a high pressure disk-shaped upwardly deflected jet of water against the circular wall of the bore hole to increase its diameter beyond the predetermined diameter and to form a smooth bore hole wall surface.

  • Publication number: 20040045497
Abstract: During an inventive laser ablation ICP-MS analysis method, solid matter samples (39) are examined in a frozen initial state. To this end, the sample chamber (2) as well as the carrier gas stream (12), which transports the ablated sample particles into the plasma (ICP-MS), are cooled to low temperatures (Tk). The physical conservation, especially of ice samples (3), results in obtaining a particularly high local resolution since their annual layers often remain preserved. An advantageous device (1) is provided with an insulated chamber (2) that can be cooled and with a simple circulating cooling device (17). The laser ablation analysis method can be used for all freezable sample materials used in mass spectrometry.
