  • Patent number: 6766971
Abstract: A method and an installation for operating a system for comminuting scrap material is provided. The installation includes a supply device (1) for the scrap material to be comminuted, and a comminuting machine (2) with at least one motor-driven (2.3) rotor (2.2) which has comminuting tools (2.2.1) and is horizontally positioned in a housing (2.1) and has an ejection door (2.1.1). The inventive installation also includes drive means for controlling the power and for protecting the installation from scrap material which is difficult to comminute or which cannot be comminuted at all, such as coarse, heavy or hard parts. For optimizing the comminuting process, the values of the motor output, of the rotation speed of the rotor, of the temperature of the motor and the motor bearings and/or of the height of the scrap material flow (3) supplied to the comminuting machine (2), are inputted in a controller (4) and used to control/regulate the scrap material supply. Technical means (4.5, 4.6, 4.

  • Patent number: 6755307
Abstract: A device for separating undesirable oblong and/or curved pieces of scrap from a scrap flow or scrap pile with a higher density, such as chill scrap, by means of an oscillating or shaking screen (1) includes a screen base (2) with a plurality of parallel guide bars (4) running in the longitudinal direction and a plurality of separating bars (3) which present openings (3.2) whose longitudinal and transverse cross-sections have different geometric shapes.

  • Patent number: 6612421
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for loading a fragmenting machine, such as a hammer crusher, including a front and rear upper drive roller which are equipped, independently of each other, with a drive mechanism and arranged above the feed plane of a feed chute. The drive rollers are mounted on a displaceable and pressure exerting system of levers, such that a continuous, pre-pressed and controlled feed of recyclable material for fragmenting is guaranteed.

  • Patent number: 6412718
Abstract: The invention relates to a rotor (1) for a reducing machine. According to the invention, the protective caps (6.1) covering the outer plates (3.1) of the rotor (1) are decoupled from the forces of the hammer axles (5) and from the forces exerted directly on the outer protective caps (6.1) by the hammers. The outer protective caps (6.1) which are exposed to the lateral forces of the hammers (4) encompass the outer edge of each of the plates (3.1) with a web (6.2) and encompass each of the inner steps (3.2) of the plate (3.1) with a projection (6.5) in the shape of a ring segment. At the same time, these outer protective caps (3.1) are mounted on the plate (3.1) with a positive fit by means of a connecting element (9) such as a hexagon socket screw. The outer protective caps (3.1) which are adjacent to the inner protective caps (6) are fixed to the outer plate (3.1) with a non-positive fit, also by means of connecting elements (9) such as hexagon socket screws (3.1).

  • Patent number: 6371393
Abstract: In a housing for a comminution machine with tools, which are secured to a rotor supported in the housing and which form active wear parts, such as hammers, and an anvil forming a counter tool, as well as inactive wear parts in the form of interchangeable wear plates which are secured to the rotor and also to the inside of the housing, an opening for feeding the material to be comminuted and at least one grate forming another inactive wear part, an ejection door for discharging heavy parts as well as an impact wall segment facing the ejection door and also forming an inactive wear part, and housing sections which are arranged horizontally in at least one plane, wherein at least one of the housing sections can be pivoted outwards about at least one pivot point, there is provided that at least sections of the wear parts are attached to the housing with bolts secured to the respective wear parts and form zones according to the different wear characteristics of the comminution process, so that the wear parts which
