  • Publication number: 20240071162
Abstract: An automated transaction machine (“ATM”) can include a note input/output port, an escrow unit, and an upper transport. The escrow unit can receive and hold currency notes. The upper transport can transport currency notes among the note input/output port and the escrow unit. The escrow unit can include a drum and first and second web-supply spool assemblies. The drum collects and releases currency notes relative to the upper transport, is rotatable about a first axis, and has a variable radius including minimum and maximum radii. Each web-supply spool assembly includes a spool and a web and can rotate about respective second and third axis parallel to and spaced from the first axis. A fourth axis can extend normal to and intersect both of the second and third axis and can be closer to the first axis than the maximum radius of the drum.

  • Patent number: 11797964
Abstract: An automated transaction machine (ATM) can include a housing, a display, a cash recycler, and a check receiver. The display can be mounted to the housing and directed toward an exterior of the housing. The cash recycler can be configured to receive a first note of currency from a first user of the ATM and dispense the first note of currency to a subsequent, second user of the ATM. The check receiver can be positioned in the housing, an intake portion with an inlet communicating with the exterior of the housing, and a check reader portion configured to receive a check from the intake portion, scan data displayed on the check, and store the check. The intake portion can be positioned below the display and the check reader portion is positioned behind the display.

  • Patent number: 11380156
Abstract: A card reader is arranged in a housing including a pivotable flap, which in an opened state enables and in a closed state prevents access to the card reader. The flap has an opening, through which a card can be fed to or ejected by the card reader in the closed state of the flap. An elastically deformable element resiliently supports the card reader. A first positioning element for positioning the card reader is arranged on the flap to lie opposite the card reader in the closed state of the flap. When the flap is moved from the open state into the closed state, the first positioning element moves the card reader in such a way that the card reader is arranged in a predefined position relative to the flap in the closed state of the flap.

  • Patent number: 11361631
Abstract: An automated teller machine comprises an output compartment for the output of notes of value and a closing element (14) which, in a closed state, closes the output compartment. An output area (12) is delimited by a first delimiting element (16, 22) and at least a second delimiting element (18, 20) and, in the closed state, by the closing element (14). An arrangement (110, 210, 310, 410, 510, 610) for monitoring the output area (12) comprises at least a sensor unit (112, 122, 212, 222, 512, 520, 312, 612, 712, 812) which is arranged and configured such that it detects an element (E, E1, E2) arranged in the output area.

  • Publication number: 20220139173
Abstract: An arrangement for securely closing a head module of a device for handling notes of value comprises a frame and a front panel. Further, the arrangement comprises at least one sensor unit for outputting a control signal, an authentication unit for determining authentication information, and a control unit. The head module comprises at least one electromechanical locking unit which in a locking state generates a locking of the front panel with the frame, and which unlocks the locking in an unlocking state. The control unit is configured to perform detection of the control signal and a verification of the authentication information, and to control the electromechanical locking unit such that changing the electromechanical locking unit from the locking state into the unlocking state only takes place upon detection of the control signal and upon successful verification of the authentication information.

  • Publication number: 20210166516
Abstract: An assembly 10 has a card reader 12 arranged in a housing 100. The housing 100 comprises a pivotable flap 102, which in an opened state enables access to the card reader 12 and in a closed state prevents access to the card reader 12. The flap 102 has an opening 104, through which a card can be fed to the card reader 12 and/or can be ejected by the card reader 12 in the closed state of the flap 102. The assembly 10 has an elastically deformable element 14 for resiliently supporting the card reader 12. The assembly 10 also has a first positioning element 16 for positioning the card reader 12, which first positioning element is arranged on the flap 102 so as to lie opposite the card reader 12 in the closed state of the flap 102. When the flap 102 is moved from the open state into the closed state, the first positioning element 16 moves the card reader 12 in such a way that the card reader 12 is arranged in a predefined position relative to the flap 102 in the closed state of the flap 102.
