  • Patent number: 5279424
Abstract: The flotation apparatus removes ink- and contaminant particles from a fiber stock suspension which is produced during the preparation of waste paper. Admixing of air to the fiber stock suspension is accomplished in stepped diffusors. The fiber stock suspension admixed with air, prior to infeed into a flotation container, is guided through a deflection element effective as an impact mixer and followed by a mixing diffusor having a preferred flow direction. This flotation apparatus is especially suited for eliminating disturbing or spurious substances which are present throughout a relatively wide grain size spectrum. A particularly preferred construction uses one or more closed flotation containers, wherein the air effluxing from the flotation foam can be advantageously re-used for aeration of further infed fiber stock suspension.

  • Patent number: 5257698
Abstract: Pump-like inlet blading has operatively connected therewith a multi-stage stepped diffusor axially opening into a separation chamber. For the removal of light particles, openings or recesses are provided at the outlet side of an inner cylinder and such merge with withdrawal channels at the inner cylinder. If necessary, there are provided for the heavy particles a collecting groove at least in front of turbine-like outlet blading and from which lead openings, so-called saveall openings towards the outside. These saveall openings are briefly alternatingly opened and closed during operation of the stock suspension cleaner. The fluid stream of the cleaned stock suspension is removed by the turbine-like outlet blading. At least one part of the inner cylinder which delimits the separation chamber is separately rotatable relative to the outer cylinder, so that such inner cylinder part can be rotated at a different rotational speed than the outer cylinder.

  • Patent number: 5236090
Abstract: The invention relates to a flotation-deinking-device comprising a flotation vessel and at least one inlet for introducing the suspension into the flotation vessel, the inlet being a staged diffusor (12) in which in a region of the stage transition (26) an air inlet opening (20) is arranged. A turbulence generator (28) without an air supply is arranged upstream of the stage transition (26) as seen in the direction of flow.

  • Patent number: 4620926
Abstract: The flotation apparatus comprising a container having a free liquid level of the fiber stock suspension which is fed essentially horizontally to the container by at least one infeed device. The infeed device contains at least one aeration element having an outlet cross-section located at a predetermined region which is 100 to 600 mm, preferably 50 to 250 mm, below the liquid level of the fiber stock suspension in the container. Between the end of the aeration element and the discharge mouth or opening of the infeed device which opens into the container there can be arranged an essentially horizontally extending starting path for quieting or stabilizing the flow of the fiber stock suspension. This starting path is provided at its initial region with an ascending cover member at which merges a channel having a free liquid level.

  • Patent number: 4431482
Abstract: A dispersion apparatus for the preparation of waste paper comprises fittings arranged within a housing and composed of a rotor containing ring-shaped concentric rows of teeth and a stator containing ring-shaped concentric rows of teeth. For the removal of the dispersed substance or material an additional rotor ring containing a number of transport teeth is mounted upon the rotor and an additional stator ring is mounted upon the stator. The stator ring possesses an opening above the discharge chute or portion of the apparatus which extends through an angle of about 90.degree.. The apparatus composed of the rotor ring and the transport teeth and the stator ring containing the opening renders possible removal of the dispersed substance or material, without altering its consistency and without there occurring cooling of the processed substance or material.
