  • Publication number: 20230043022
Abstract: A sealing ring includes: a sealing body of a rubber-elastic sealing material; and an intermediate element which is connected to the sealing body. The sealing body includes a retaining collar which delimits an undercut. The intermediate element is arranged in the undercut and assigned to the retaining collar in a non-adhered and non-destructively detachable manner.

  • Publication number: 20220282791
Abstract: A seal ring includes: a static seal seat arranged inside the seal ring in a radial direction; and two sealing lips arranged outside the seal seat in the radial direction, the two sealing lips being axial sealing lips, one sealing lip of the axial sealing lips being a radially inner first and an other sealing lip of the axial sealing lips being a radially outer second axial sealing lip, the second axial sealing lip enclosing the first axial sealing lip at a radial distance on an outer circumference. The first axial sealing lip has greater flexibility in the radial direction than the second axial sealing lip. The second axial sealing lip has a surface structure radially externally on a side facing radially away from the first axial sealing lip, which surface structure is aerodynamically active during an intended use of the seal ring, so as to swirl an air layer.

  • Patent number: 11371614
Abstract: A method includes using a sealing element to dynamically seal a sealing body in the presence of a lubricant. The sealing element has an elastomeric base body and a plasma coating. The coating includes the elements carbon, oxygen, silicon, and hydrogen. The coating has the following properties at least at the surface: the amount ratio C:Si (at %/at %) is >5, the amount ratio O:Si (at %/at %) is >3, and the surface energy is <50 mN/m. In an embodiment, the coating includes the element fluorine.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 18, 2018
Date of Patent: June 28, 2022
    Assignee: CARL FREUDENBERG KG
Inventors: Friederike Von Fragstein, Matthias Adler, Stephan Rutz, Thomas Schnetz, Katharina Hallstein, Kai Feller, Boris Traber, Erich Prem

  • Patent number: 9482344
Abstract: An arrangement includes a radial shaft seal (2) that surrounds a shaft (1), wherein an elastomer body (4) forms a sealing lip (5) for bearing against the shaft (1), wherein the sealing lip (5) has a sinusoidally curved sealing edge (6) on its side which faces the shaft (1), which sealing edge runs around along the inner circumference of the sealing lip (5), and wherein the sealing edge (6) bears against the circumferential face (7) of the shaft (1). The radial shaft seal as a single component is able to produce high dynamic seal tightness in a plurality of different applications.

  • Patent number: 7073794
Abstract: A sealing arrangement for sealing a machine element, preferably a shaft, with a sealing ring and leak-detection means that comprises a sensor for detecting the leak, and a depot for picking up the leak. The depot is monitored by the sensor and the depot consists of an absorbent and/or swellable material, and is arranged so as to permit delayed leak detection by the sensor.
