  • Patent number: 6343570
Abstract: A steam generator, in particular a waste-heat steam generator, includes first and second evaporator heating surfaces located in an elongate gas flue for hot gas. A first supply line for feed water is throughflow-connected on an inlet side to the first evaporator heating surface, while the second evaporator heating surface is throughflow-connected on an inlet and an outlet side to a low-pressure drum. The low-pressure drum is provided with a second supply line for feed water. The first supply line has a first treatment point and the second supply line a second treatment point. Each of the treatment points serves for adding and/or extracting chemicals for water treatment, so that each evaporator heating surface can receive only feed water which is conditioned according to regulations applying to that evaporator heating surface. A method for operating the steam generator is also provided.

  • Patent number: 6237321
Abstract: A method for operating a combined-cycle power plant includes utilizing heat contained in an expanded working medium of an associated gas turbine operable with both gas and oil as fuel, to generate steam for an associated steam turbine having at least one high-pressure stage. After a change of the operation of the gas turbine from gas to oil, feed water to be supplied to the high-pressure stage is divided into a first and a second partial stream, and only one of the partial streams is preheated. Particularly high plant efficiency may be achieved with the method, irrespective of the fuel being used for the gas turbine, at a low outlay in terms of apparatus and operational requirements. A combined-cycle power plant that is particularly suitable for carrying out the method includes a bypass line connected in parallel with a feed-water preheater associated with the high-pressure stage.

  • Patent number: 6089013
Abstract: Condensate of a combined-cycle gas and steam turbine plant is deaerated. The condensate is heated in a feedwater tank to which preheated condensate is supplied. The condensate is preheated in a waste-steam generator heated by waste heat of the gas turbine. Feedwater is extracted and warmed in heating surfaces connected in the water/steam loop of the steam turbine and heated by the exhaust gas from the gas turbine. In order to guarantee adequate deaeration of the condensate at a simultaneously high efficiency of the plant through especially high energy utilization of the waste heat from the gas turbine, a partial flow of the preheated condensate or a partial flow of preheated feedwater is used as heating medium for heating the condensate. A low-pressure economizer is connected downstream of a condensate preheater in the waste-heat steam generator via a feedwater tank. The condensate preheater or the low-pressure economizer have at their outlet an outflow line leading into the feedwater tank.

  • Patent number: 6047548
Abstract: A gas and steam turbine plant includes a waste-heat steam generator disposed downstream of a gas turbine on the exhaust-gas side. The waste-heat steam generator has heating surfaces connected into a water-steam circuit of a steam turbine having a high-pressure part, a medium-pressure part and a low-pressure part. In order to achieve as high a plant efficiency as possible, a heat exchanger disposed outside the waste-heat steam generator is connected between the high-pressure part and the medium-pressure part on the primary side and between the medium-pressure part and the low-pressure part of the steam turbine on the secondary side. In a corresponding method for operating such a plant, low-pressure steam flowing to the steam turbine is heated by indirect heat exchange with medium-pressure steam flowing out of the steam turbine.

  • Patent number: 6041588
Abstract: A waste-heat steam generator of a gas-turbine and steam-turbine system. The steam-generating heat content in the expanded working medium from the gas turbine is used for the steam turbine connected into a water/steam loop. Condensed steam from the steam turbine is supplied as condensate to the water/steam loop. A partial flow is diverted from the water-steam loop for selectively preheating the condensate or the fuel with the partial flow. To achieve high efficiency, irrespective of the fuel used for the gas turbine, when oil is used as the fuel for the gas turbine, the partial flow from the water/steam loop is used for condensate preheating. When gas is used as the fuel for the gas turbine, the partial flow is used for fuel preheating. A heat exchanger for the selective preheating either of the gas-turbine fuel or of the condensate with the partial flow is provided.

  • Patent number: 5887418
Abstract: A method for operating a gas-turbine and steam-turbine plant and a plant working according to the method, utilize exhaust gas from a gas turbine for steam generation when the plant is in operation. In order to ensure that a gas-turbine model can be freely selected, irrespective of its power rating and with a reduction in exhaust gas losses, in the case of both a new plant and a retrofitting of an already existing plant, a first part stream of exhaust gas from the gas turbine is used as combustion air for the combustion of a fossil fuel and a second part stream of exhaust gas from the gas turbine is utilized for waste-heat steam generation. At the same time, for steam generation, a combination of a fossil-fired steam generator and a waste-heat steam generator is located downstream of the gas turbine on the exhaust gas side, in each case through a part-stream conduit.

  • Patent number: 5873234
Abstract: Adequate cooling of the coolant of a gas turbine of a gas and steam turbine system is assured under all operating conditions, and especially in peak-load operation. The coolant of the gas turbine is cooled by heat exchange with a medium circulating in a separate evaporator loop connected to the steam drum. The cooling capacity is adapted to the operating state of the gas and steam turbine system. An injector connection is provided between a feedwater delivery pipe and the separate evaporator loop.

  • Patent number: 5062138
Abstract: A hearing aid housing comprises at least two housing shells and a battery compartment that can be brought into different swiveled positions. In order to simplify the structuring of the hearing aid, all mounts of the battery compartment hinge as well as catch means for producing the various swiveled positions are inventively situated at one housing shell. This facilitates the observation of tolerances in the manufacture of the hearing aid. The battery compartment is also firmly seated at one housing shell and can not separate or wobble during further assembly of the hearing aid.

  • Patent number: 4965831
Abstract: Retainers for individual structural components or a plurality of structural components are simultaneously used in order to hold the housing shells of the hearing aid together. To that end, the amplifier structure is secured to a retaining frame that is braced such between the housing shells with screws that the housing shells are drawn together. The screwed connections are arranged such that the screws are not visible when the heariing aid is worn. In an advantageous execution, some of the screws are arranged in the hearing aid and are accessible via the opened battery compartment.

  • Patent number: 4612950
Abstract: In order to attain a modestly dimensioned device with small height, comprising two pressure regulators for supplying two independently regulated adjustable pressures from line pressure, the two regulators are divided into two functional units arranged laterally side by side. The first unit comprises a first valve chamber, the second unit a second valve chamber which act together to regulate the output pressure with manually adjustable control means. Line pressure supply line and pressure issue line of each unit are arranged in line with said valve chambers arranged side by side. The issue lines are connected to a measurement selector switch by which each of the units can be connected separately with measurement means. Further, independent measurement connections are provided. The described arrangement allows a compactly formed device in a box-shaped block.
