  • Method and apparatus for confining and reclaiming hydrocarbon contaminated land sites

    Abstract: A process for bio-remediation of soil contaminated with organic compounds and containment of the contamination, utilizes a group of veil wells disposed along the limits of the contamination and downgradient of groundwater flow. Contamination consuming bacteria and water are injected into the soil to form a curtain of bacteria for presenting spread of contamination. Areas of heavy concentration of contaminants are excavated, bio-remediation of areas of lower concentrations of contaminants by injection of bacteria and water under pressure. Dead man wells are provided for recovery of contaminated ground water and the organic compounds.
