  • Publication number: 20110083720
Abstract: The invention relates to a photovoltaics device for directly converting solar energy to electric power. Said device comprises a housing (10), provided with at least one light entrance panel from a transparent material, a plurality of solar cells (5), arranged at a respective distance to the at least one light entrance panel on its side facing away from the sun in the interior of the housing (10) and having a smaller surface area that a light entrance surface of the light inlet panel. The light entrance panel is provided with an optical unit for concentrating or bundling the solar radiation incident through the light entrance surface onto the smaller surface areas of the solar cells (5). The housing (10) comprises an injection-molded part from a first material that forms the lateral walls.

  • Publication number: 20100066382
Abstract: The invention relates to a test device for a PV concentrator module, comprising a first light source for generating a light that simulates solar irradiation, a lens system which concentrates the light beams emitted by the first light source to a pencil of rays whose individual light beams diverge by less than 2° while being suited to direct said pencil of rays to an incident light surface of the PV concentrator module, and an instrument for measuring an output signal of the PV concentrator module irradiated by the pencil of rays.

  • Publication number: 20090308431
Abstract: The invention relates to a concentrator photovoltaic device (10) having a plurality of photovoltaic units (22) for directly converting solar energy into electrical energy, wherein a plurality of the photovoltaic units (22) are each provided with: a light entry surface (20) formed on a first optical unit (24), a solar cell (56) which has a smaller surface expanse than the light entry surface (20) of the photovoltaic device (22), the first optical unit (24) being designed to concentrate or focus the solar radiation entering through the light entry surface (20) onto a predetermined area (34) which is determined by the smaller surface of the solar cell (56), is at a spacing from the light entry surface (20) and is smaller in area than the light entry surface (20).

  • Publication number: 20090277493
Abstract: The invention relates to a photovoltaic device (20) for directly converting solar energy into electrical energy, comprising a solar cell (5) having a smaller surface area than a light entering surface (1) of the photovoltaic device (20), an optical unit (2) for concentrating the solar radiation (3) passing through to the light entrance surface (1) on a given area (22) defined by the smaller surface of the solar cell (5), positioned spaced apart from the light entering surface (1) and having a smaller surface in comparison to the light entering surface (1), and a transparent carrier body (6, 30) on which the solar cell (5) is arranged, For a simpler and cost-effective fabrication of the unit, it is proposed, that the carrier body is a transparent light exiting body (6, 30) through which the concentrated solar radiation (3) can pass and in that the solar cell (5) is arranged on a side of the light exiting body (6, 30) which is turned away from the light entering surface (1) and/or from the optical unit (2).
