  • Patent number: 4949665
Abstract: An apparatus for coating both sides of boards, in particular, printed circuit boards includes a conveyor and a liquid coating station. The apparatus may include a station for feeding boards to the conveyor and particularly to a movable board holder configured to grip the circuit boards at their outer edges. The coating station located in the conveyor path coats the boards one side at a time. A board rotating station is located at one end of the conveyor and a board drying station is configured to simultaneously dry both sides of the boards.

  • Patent number: 4871584
Abstract: A very economical process for coating both sides of boards, in particular printed circuit boards, with a liquid coating material, includes the insertion of the boards in a turnover device, wherein first one side is coated, then the board is turned over and the other side is coated. Alternatively, the first side is coated, then the board is turned in a stationary turnover device and its second side is then coated. The process is carried out as follows: 1. Coating the first side of the board. 2. Turning over the board. 3. Coating the second side of the board. 4. Drying both sides together. The board is held or supported during the process by two of its opposite edges.

  • Patent number: 4548139
Abstract: A grate for industrial furnaces wherein pairs of stationary grate bars flank movable grate bars. The grate bars of each pair are connected to each other by an elongated coupling device which extends through one or more elongated slots of the movable grate bar between them. The coupling device has two bolts whose heads are pivotably anchored in the downwardly extending ribs of the stationary bars and an internally threaded sleeve which is located between the slots in two downwardly extending ribs of the movable grate bar and meshes with the shanks of the two bolts. The shanks have oppositely inclined threads and the sleeve is held in the selected position by a lock nut.

  • Patent number: 4520792
Abstract: A grate for use in industrial furnaces wherein rows of elongated grate bars partially overlap each other and the grate bars of each row include neighboring stationary and longitudinally movable grate bars. The undersides of the marginal zones of neighboring grate bars are undulate by exhibiting alternating teeth and tooth spaces which ensures rapid expulsion of solid particles which happen to penetrate between the lateral surfaces of neighboring grate bars when the movable grate bars reciprocate relative to the adjacent grate bars. The flanks of teeth at the undersides of the marginal zones make with the upper sides of the respective grate bars acute angles of between 20 and 50 degrees, and the thickness of each marginal zone above the deepmost portion of a tooth space is a small fraction of the thickness of the marginal zone above the top land of a tooth.

  • Patent number: 4239029
Abstract: A grate for industrial furnaces wherein each row of grate bars includes alternating stationary and reciprocable bars. The stationary bars which flank a reciprocable bar are connected to each other by a bolt which extends transversely of the stationary bars and of the reciprocable bar therebetween and has hook-shaped end portions or screws engaging the inner sides of ribs forming part of the stationary bars and adjacent to the respective side of the reciprocable bar. The median portion of the bolt extends through elongated slots in the ribs which are provided at the underside of the reciprocable bar. The latter moves with respect to the bolt and with respect to the adjacent stationary bars.

  • Patent number: 4235172
Abstract: A grate wherein several steps of alternating partly overlapping mobile and stationary grate bars are adjacent to a compensating device which expands or contracts to compensate for heat-induced variations of the width of adjacent steps. The compensating device supports or is adjacent to a sealing device having auxiliary bars which abut against the side faces of adjacent mobile grate bars and abut against the top faces of adjacent stationary grate bars. The side faces of the stationary bars are separated from the sealing device and from the compensating device by permanent clearances which are overlapped by the auxiliary bars. The auxiliary bars rest on the stationary bars and are biased against the side faces of the respective mobile bars by weights or springs of the compensating device.

  • Patent number: 4096809
Abstract: Apparatus which compensates for thermally induced changes in the width of gaps between longitudinally extending marginal portions of grate sections in industrial furnaces has two rows of plate-like cheeks which abut against the marginal portions of neighboring sections and can swivel on fulcra defined by the webs of inverted U-shaped supporting devices whose legs are turnable about pivots mounted in a frame and extending in parallelism with the marginal portions of grate sections. The cheeks are urged away from each other and against the marginal portions of neighboring grate sections by pairs of two-armed levers mounted on a common shaft which is biased downwardly by a package of dished springs through the medium of a pull rod. The cheeks of each row are secured to plate-like carriers which are disposed between the respective rows of cheeks and the corresponding arms of the levers and are swingable on the associated fulcra.

  • Patent number: 4073480
Abstract: Apparatus for processing slag, which is quenched in a liquid-containing vessel, has a forwardly and upwardly sloping chute receiving batches of quenched slag through the medium of a first pusher which is reciprocable along the bottom of the vessel whereby the chute accumulates a column of slag which overflows at the discharge end of the chute. The overflowing slag descends onto the upper side of a first forwardly and upwardly inclined bottom wall in front of a second reciprocable pusher which performs a forward stroke when the first pusher performs a return stroke and vice versa. The second pusher spreads and advances the slag toward and beyond the discharge end of the first bottom wall so that the slag descends onto a second bottom wall which is swept by a third reciprocable pusher.

  • Patent number: 4058908
Abstract: An apparatus is provided for drying flat printed material such as paper and card sheets and the like, supports for the printed material being mounted on the chain links of the conveyor chains of an upright chain conveyor having a transfer path which is disposed in an upper reversal zone of the conveyor chains and on which the printed material is conveyed from a rising to a falling conveyor stringer. Conveying means are disposed on the conveying path of the printed material and comprise pusher elements and/or pull elements which can be reciprocated in the conveying plane and which act only on the trailing or leading ends of the printed material so as to push and/or pull the printed material over the conveying path.
