Patent number: 11053630Abstract: A washing machine appliance equipped with a venting system is provided. The venting system includes features for venting or expelling relatively humid air from a subwasher of the washing machine appliance, e.g., at the completion of a wash cycle. In one example aspect, a door of the washing machine appliance defines a plurality of vent apertures that allow for fresh air from an ambient environment to flow into an interior volume of the subwasher. The vent apertures extend through the door and fluidly connect the ambient environment with the interior volume. The relatively low humidity fresh air that flows into the interior chamber mixes with the relatively humid air within the interior volume. The mixed air is expelled from the washing machine appliance via a venting conduit.Type: GrantFiled: January 31, 2019Date of Patent: July 6, 2021Assignee: Haier US Appliance Solutions, Inc.Inventors: Erick Flores Islas, Aaron Daniel Abbott

Patent number: 10815609Abstract: A washing machine appliance equipped with door reversing locking and latching features is provided. Particularly, the washing machine appliance includes latching assembly that is movable between various mounting positions and is configured to hold the door in a closed position. A hinge assembly rotatably couples the door with a cabinet of the washing machine appliance and is movable between various mounting positions so that the door swing direction may be reversed. The washing machine appliance also includes a locking assembly for locking the door in the closed position, e.g., during operation of the washing machine appliance. The locking assembly is separate and distinct from the latching assembly and need not be moved when reversing the swing direction of the door.Type: GrantFiled: July 10, 2018Date of Patent: October 27, 2020Assignee: Haier US Appliance Solutions, Inc.Inventors: Daniel Stephen Renz, Erick Flores Islas

Publication number: 20200283944Abstract: A washing machine appliance may include a cabinet, a tub, a wash basket, a front ventilation line, and a vent damper. The cabinet may include a front panel. The front panel may define an opening and a cabinet aperture spaced apart from the opening. The tub may be positioned within the cabinet. The wash basket may be rotatably mounted within the tub. The front ventilation line may be in fluid communication with the tub. The front ventilation line may define an air path from an inlet at the cabinet aperture to an outlet in fluid communication with the tub. The vent damper may be positioned along the front ventilation line in fluid communication therewith. The vent damper may be selectively movable between a first position restricting airflow through the front ventilation line and a second position permitting airflow through the front ventilation line.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 6, 2019Publication date: September 10, 2020Inventors: Erick Flores Islas, Aaron Daniel Abbott

Patent number: 6446291Abstract: A process for automatically controlling water level in a washing machine having a motor drive coupled to energize a motor that drives the agitator is provided. The process allows for selecting a target water level based on one or more water-level selection signals. The method further allows for measuring a parameter indicative of the water level based on an actual inertial response of the agitator. A comparing step allows for comparing the actual agitator inertial response against a target agitator inertial response, and a selecting step allows for selectively actuating one or more water valves for allowing passage of water so as to adjust the water level of the washing machine based on deviations between the actual agitator inertial response and the target agitator inertial response.Type: GrantFiled: May 31, 2000Date of Patent: September 10, 2002Assignee: Mabe Mexico S. de R.L. de C.VInventors: Alfredo Diaz Fernandez, Pedro Roberto Reyes Turrubiarte, Erick Flores Islas, Juan Carlos Gonzalez Garcia Ancira

Patent number: 6415469Abstract: A process and system for controlling respective agitator motion patterns in a washing machine having a motor drive coupled to energize a motor that drives the agitator is provided. The process allows for selecting a desired agitator motion pattern based on one or more pattern selection signals. The process further allows measuring one or more parameters indicative of the actual agitator motion pattern. A comparing step allows for comparing the actual agitator motion pattern against the desired agitator motion pattern, and an adjusting step allows for adjusting one or more control signals supplied to the motor drive for correcting deviations between the actual agitator motion pattern and the desired motion pattern.Type: GrantFiled: May 31, 2000Date of Patent: July 9, 2002Assignee: Mabe Mexico S. de R.L. de C.V.Inventors: Alfredo Diaz Fernandez, Pedro Roberto Reyes Turrubiarte, Erick Flores Islas, Juan Carlos Gonzalez Garcia Ancira
