  • Publication number: 20240094423
Abstract: Aspects provide for methods that successfully evaluates multiple compressional and shear arrival events received by a sonic logging tool to evaluate the presence of structures, such as shoulder beds, in downhole environments. In particular, the methods described herein enable automated determination of properties of laminated reservoir formations by, for example, enabling the automated determination of arrival times and slownesses of multiple compressional and shear arrival events received by a sonic logging tool.

  • Patent number: 11918432
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for endodontic treatment of teeth provide effective cleaning of organic material (such as pulp and diseased tissue) from the root canal system. In an embodiment, a compressor system generates high pressure liquid (e.g., water) that flows through an orifice to produce a high-velocity collimated jet of liquid. The high-velocity jet is directed toward a surface of a tooth, for example, an exposed dentinal surface, and impingement of the jet onto the surface generates an acoustic wave that propagates throughout the tooth. The acoustic wave effectively detaches organic material from dentinal surfaces and tubules. The detached organic material is flushed from the root canal system by the liquid jet and/or by additional irrigation.

  • Publication number: 20230079693
Abstract: Systems and methods include an infrared camera configured to capture an infrared image of a scene, a display configured to display a portion of the captured infrared image and at least one graphic indicia to guide a person being scanned, and a logic device configured to scan a region of interest using an infrared camera, detect a person in the region of interest, instruct the person to move into a scanning position, initiate temperature scanning of person if scanning criteria is satisfied, determine temperature of the person and compare to at least one temperature threshold, and perform a task associated with determined temperature. The system may further comprise a dual-image camera comprising the infrared camera and a visible image camera, wherein the dual-image camera comprises a beamsplitter arranged to reflect visible light towards the visible image camera and pass through an infrared image to the infrared camera.

  • Publication number: 20230024701
Abstract: Various techniques are provided performing temperature inspections of assets, such as temperature-sensitive industrial equipment. In one example, a method includes receiving, at a portable device, inspection instructions associated with an asset at a location in an environment. The method also includes displaying, at the portable device, the asset in an augmented reality format to guide a user of the portable device to the location. The method also includes capturing, by a thermal imager associated with the portable device, a thermal image of the asset when the thermal imager is aligned with the asset. The method also includes extracting, from the thermal image, at least one temperature measurement associated with the asset. Additional methods and systems are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20220335596
Abstract: System and methods for capturing infrared images for include infrared imaging components configured to capture infrared images of a scene, user input and output components include a display and at least one user input component, and a logic device configured to guide the user through an infrared image acquisition process to acquire an infrared image of an inspection area, and guide the user through an analysis of the captured infrared image to detect a condition visible in the infrared image of the inspection area. The user is guided through environmental and/or location considerations associated with the condition, instructed to prepare the location for infrared image acquisition, and guided through a process for analyzing captured images.

  • Patent number: 9672349
Abstract: A cloud service system may activate features or functionality based on agreement of at least two parties such as a system administrator and a compliance officer to mitigate compliance, security, or privacy impact on the service. The controllers may make the “enable feature” decision independently, but still have equal say in the outcome. In some examples, pre-established profiles may be provided to a controller such as a compliance officer to make decisions by selection on his/her behalf at a particular level of risk acceptance and/or to meet a particular regulatory standard/certification.

  • Publication number: 20100086453
Abstract: A fumigation apparatus comprises a first container for holding a substance to be dispensed. The substance comprises at least two of a deodorizer, an anti-bacterial substance, an anti-allergenic substance and a disinfecting substance. A dispensing mechanism converts the substance in the first container into at least one of a mist or spray. A canister encloses the first container and the dispensing mechanism.

  • Patent number: 5114746
Abstract: An abrasion- and termite-resistant cable comprises at least one elongate functional element coated with at least two concentric layers of polymeric material, the exterior layer being a polyamide and the layer adjacent thereto being an essentially olefin polymer which comprises from 0.001 to 30% by weight of polar monomer selected from unsaturated acids and acid anhydrides. Other monomers and properly-modifying polymers may also be present in the olefin polymer. These layers are applied in a single operation wherein at least one of the polymeric materials is in a fluid state when the materials are contacted. The invention permits the construction of a cable with an unusally thin polyamide layer. It also permits the extrusion of the layers on an aluminium-sheathed functional element without the need for an adhesion-promoting layer on the aluminium.
