    Abstract: A system and method are provided for selecting a remote controlled device to be controlled from among a plurality of remote controllable devices. The system includes an electronic device having a registration interface configured to register device data corresponding to the plurality of remote controllable devices, a position locator configured to determine position data corresponding to a position of the electronic device, and an orientation interface configured to receive orientation data corresponding to an orientation of a user. A controller is configured to select the remote controlled device based on the device data, the position data, and the orientation data. The plurality of remote controllable devices each may include a respective data source configured to provide the device data, and a headset may be configured to generate the orientation data.

    Abstract: A user controls a function of a mobile terminal with the aid of a motion sensor integrated in a headset. A motion sensor in the headset detects movement of the user's head and transmits head movement signals to the mobile. The mobile terminal uses the head movement signals received from the headset to control a function of the mobile terminal. For example, the mobile terminal may lock or unlock the mobile terminal based on the user's head movement. The mobile terminal may also accept, decline, initiate, or terminate a call based on the user's head movement. Head movement may also be used to navigate desktop icons and menus to perform tasks such as starting programs and selecting music for play back.

    Abstract: The invention relates to an electronic device (10) and a method for handling data communication with such an electronic device. The electronic device combines, on the one hand, a data carrier interface including a slot (13) for receiving a data carrier, and on the other hand a Near Field Communication (NFC) interface including an RF antenna (15) connected to a circuit (16) for acquiring data modulated in an electromagnetic wave. The antenna (15) is positioned adjacent to the data carrier slot (13), such that the NFC interface is operable to acquire data stored on an NFC tag (33, 34) positioned in the slot. A data carrier (30) for use with the electronic device may take the shape and size of a standard carrier usable with the data carrier interfaced, such as a Memory Stick, while in fact lacking a data memory accessible by the data carrier interface. Instead, the NFC interface is configured to acquire data from the much simpler and cheaper NFC tag attached to the data carrier.
