  • Publication number: 20090080976
Abstract: A water channeling system includes at least one channeling member comprising fixed aggregate forming a solid body. In this embodiment, the at least one channeling member has a first end, a second end, and a plurality of fluidly connecting interstices therewithin. In this version, the at least one channeling member is water permeable longitudinally between the first end and the second end. The at least one channeling member may be installed below ground to channel water from a first location to a second location. The channeling member may be an elongate member or a vertical panel. The channeling member may comprise comprises polymeric aggregate particles having irregular shapes. The fixed aggregate may have a density of less than or equal to about 1 lb per cubic foot. Multiple channeling members may be placed end-to-end.

  • Publication number: 20060140113
Abstract: A wireless communication system (20) includes a wireless network (30) that selects between a dedicated communication channel and a shared communication channel for transmitting a real-time communication such as a voice over internet protocol (VoIP) communication. In one example, a radio network controller (40) portion of the wireless network (30) evaluates channel conditions of the available channels for purposes of selecting the channel for the transmission that will maintain or enhance efficiency of the network. In a disclosed example, the selection is made at the initiation of a call. In another disclosed example, the selected channel condition or conditions are periodically evaluated to determine whether switching during a call is desirable. In another example, both channel types are used simultaneously at least during a handoff where a switch is made from one channel type to the other.

  • Patent number: 6781972
Abstract: A method and system for providing configurable data services for mobile stations allows mobile stations to select the type and content of data messages addressed to a mobile station. The method includes establishing an active profile associated with a corresponding mobile station. A wireless data server receives a data message addressed to the mobile station. The active profile for the mobile station is accessed to determine applicable stored profile attributes for the mobile station to which the received data message is addressed. The wireless data server detects received profile attributes associated with the received data message. Filtering is applied to the received data message in real-time based on a comparison between the detected profile attributes and the stored profile attributes. The detected profile attributes are readily standardized in accordance with standards followed by the content service provider in order to gain access to the mobile service subscribers.
