  • Patent number: 11542545
Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods and devices for rapid assessment of whether a microorganism present in a sample is susceptible or resistant to a treatment.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 5, 2015
Date of Patent: January 3, 2023
Assignees: California Institute of Technology, Talis Biomedical Corporation
Inventors: Rustem F. Ismagilov, Eugenia Khorosheva, Travis S. Schlappi, Matthew S. Curtis, Nathan G. Schoepp, Hedia Maamar, Feng Shen, Erik B. Jue
  • Patent number: 10866184
Abstract: The present invention relates to methods, computer readable medium and systems for detecting and counting single nucleic acid molecules confined in nanoliter volumes using an unmodified camera, such as a cell phone camera. In particular, it identifies colorimetric amplification-indicator dyes that are compatible with the spectral sensitivity of standard mobile phones. The invention further provides an optimal ratiometric image-process for a selected dye to achieve a readout that is robust to lighting conditions and camera hardware and provides unambiguous quantitative results, even for colorblind users.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 4, 2016
Date of Patent: December 15, 2020
    Assignee: California Institute of Technology
Inventors: Rustem F. Ismagilov, Jesus Rodriguez Manzano, Mikhail Karymov, David A. Selck, Stefano Begolo, Erik B. Jue, Dmitriy V. Zhukov
