Two wall elements of the protecting cover extend in the cross-machine direction on either side of the application zone, and define machine-wide gaps with the moving surface. The protecting cover includes a sealing arrangement arranged in connection with the gaps to control and restrict passage of air and contaminants through the gaps; a system for a controlled supply of capture air for capturing contaminants within the space; and an evacuating system for a controlled, continuous evacuation of the capture air with contaminants from the chamber.
