  • Patent number: 4896415
Abstract: A pre-formed (e.g. injection moulded) container body of flexible resilient plastics material is subjected to a subsequent cold-forming operation so that it is permanently deformed into a required configuration. For example, a desired container mouth configuration may be produced or handle-retaining recesses may be formed.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 31, 1988
Date of Patent: January 30, 1990
    Inventor: Erik Bock
  • Patent number: 4572399
Abstract: A plastics container has a side wall and a rim portion moulded in one piece with the side wall. The rim portion is joined to the side wall by an integral hinge portion on which it can be folded inwardly of the container. Thereby a container having an inwardly projecting rim or retaining tabs can be readily produced as a one-piece moulding. Preferably, the side wall and rim portion are inwardly concave, whereby the rim portion can be held in its inwards position by forces caused by folding.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 1, 1984
Date of Patent: February 25, 1986

  • Patent number: 4240554
Abstract: An open container which is nestable with an underlying similar container and which is provided with wedge members and one or more locking members. Each locking member on the overlying container, in response to a relative rotation of the two nested containers, will engage and ride upon a guide surface of a corresponding wedge member of the underlying container until such locking member comes into engagement with an abutment surface of such wedge member, to secure the containers in a relative angular position established thereby. Subsequent similar containers may be stacked, nested one in another, and in a similar manner, be secured in a common angular orientation.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 9, 1979
Date of Patent: December 23, 1980
    Assignee: Superfos Emballage A/S

  • Patent number: 4231486
Abstract: The inventive container seal comprises a cover (4) and a rim ring (3) die cast as a unit. In said unit the cover (4) and the rim ring (3) are mutually connected by a radial ring rib (10), said ring rib forming an area of fracture, which is ruptured when the cover is pressed down into the rim ring. At the same time or later the rim ring (3) can be pressed into the mouth (2) of a container. The rim ring (3) is reinforcing the container wall so that an outer stiffening bead is superfluous.

  • Patent number: 4071939
Abstract: A pail having diametrically opposed recesses or apertures for receiving inwardly directed pins projecting at the ends of a handle; said recesses or apertures each having a narrowed section behind which the head of the pin can be introduced when the pin is passed through the recess. The narrowed section opens laterally towards an opening, so that the pin of the handle is brought into position by a movement in a transverse direction of the pail axis.
