  • Patent number: 10815051
Abstract: A system includes a rigid container configured to receive a dry cargo and a flexible container configured to receive a bulk liquid. The flexible container is configured to be disposed within the rigid container when the flexible container contains the bulk liquid. The flexible container includes a set of container portions and a set of restriction portions. Each container portion has a first cross-sectional area and each restriction portion defines a second cross-sectional area less than the first cross-sectional area. Each restriction portion is disposed between a pair of adjacent container portions and is configured to restrict a flow of the bulk liquid therebetween. The restricting of the flow of the bulk liquid between the container portions is configured to limit load shifting associated with the flexible container when disposed in the rigid container.

  • Publication number: 20190100338
Abstract: Apparatus, systems, and methods for housing a bulk material within a flexible container are described herein. In some embodiments, a method includes maintaining a flexible container in an expanded configuration to define an interior volume. A bulk material is conveyed into the interior volume of the expanded flexible container. The flexible container is then moved from the expanded configuration to a collapsed configuration, such that movement of the bulk material within the interior volume is limited.

  • Patent number: 9567157
Abstract: A flexible container includes a container body and a flexible cover. The container body defines an interior volume and includes a side wall that defines an opening. The opening is configured to receive a bulk material therethrough such that the bulk material can be disposed within an interior volume of the container body. The flexible cover can be coupled to the side wall about the opening. The cover is configured to fluidically isolate the interior volume from a volume substantially outside of the flexible container.

  • Patent number: 6318930
Abstract: A trench-padding method and apparatus provide a more efficient, cost efficient process of obtaining a maximal amount of padding material from material excavated from a trench, and where selected, provide for trenching. The trench-padding apparatus includes a lead assembly that includes a feeder housing having a front rotating unit with protrusions. The feeder housing may be configured to excavate the trench or alternatively, to scoop up previously excavated material. The front rotating unit is attached to a frame of the trench-padding apparatus immediately in front of an elevator device, and the front rotating unit forces clumps of the excavated material between the front rotating unit and a base of the feeder housing to aid in reducing clump size. The method operates in the manner of the trench-padding apparatus.

  • Patent number: 5938373
Abstract: A method of padding a trench includes the steps of automatically gathering at least a portion of excavated material from the berm of a trench, auomatically pulverizing at least part of the gathered material to form a pulverized material, and automatically conveying the pulverized material to the trench. The gathered material can be separated into at least two grades of material, only one of the grades of material being pulverized to form the pulverized material, another of the grades of material being returned to the berm. The pulverized material can be collected for use as a sandblasting sand.
