  • Publication number: 20240146586
Abstract: Embodiments herein disclose e.g. a method performed by a wireless device (10) for handling communication for the wireless device in a second wireless communication network. The second wireless communication network coexists with a first wireless communication network on a same bandwidth in frequency, wherein the first wireless communication network applies a first shift in frequency in uplink transmissions. The wireless device receives from a radio network node (12, 13), an indication indicating application of a second shift in frequency to uplink transmissions in case the second wireless communication network uses Frequency Division Duplex (FDD). The wireless device further applies the second shift in frequency to uplink transmissions, wherein the second shift defines a shift in frequency to a subcarrier relative to a subcarrier grid of the second wireless communication network or a shift in frequency to the subcarrier grid of the second wireless communication network.

  • Patent number: 11973712
Abstract: Coordinated multi-point transmission of user data from a first cell serving a wireless terminal and a neighboring second cell site is performed. The first cell site maps control signals and user data to time-frequency resources according to a first mapping pattern. The second cell site maps control data and traffic data to time-frequency resources according to a second mapping pattern. A wireless terminal extracts user data according to the first mapping pattern and detects a control element transmitted by the first cell site. The control element indicates that user data associated with the control element is mapped to the time-frequency resources according to the second mapping pattern. In response, the wireless device extracts user data according to the second mapping pattern from time-frequency resources of a second transmission for the wireless terminal transmitted from the second cell site.

Abstract: Systems and methods for positioning in a cellular communications system are disclosed. A method performed by a first base station (BS) includes receiving a signal transmitted by a second BS and estimating a Time of Arrival (TOA) of the received signal at the first BS according to a clock of the first BS. The method further includes determining a delta value that is or is a function of a time between the TOA of the received signal at the first BS according to the clock and a time reference at the first BS and either (a) providing the delta value to a positioning estimation entity within the communications system or (b) using the delta value at the first BS to reduce a time synchronization error between the first BS and the second BS, or (c) passing the delta value to a User Equipment.

  • Publication number: 20240097957
Abstract: To configure uplink sounding signal transmission in a wireless communication network, sets of configuration parameters for uplink sounding signal transmissions are determined for a given mobile terminal. Each of the sets of configuration parameters comprises a priority, a frequency-domain parameter and a time-domain parameter. The sets of configuration parameters are transmitted to the mobile terminal, thereby configuring the mobile terminal to generate different sounding signals and use the priorities to select from among the different sets of configuration parameters in the event of a sounding signal transmission collision.

  • Patent number: 11924735
Abstract: A method, performed by a first node (111). The method is for handling access to a communications network (100) in a multi-hop deployment. The first node receives (305), from a fourth node (114), information. The information indicates a recommendation on which node within radio range to connect to, out of a plurality of candidate parent nodes (120). The plurality comprises a first set (121) and a second set (122) of candidate parent nodes. A third node (113) is enabled to be a donor node in the first set (121). A sixth node (116) is enabled to be a donor node in the second set (122). The first node also determines (307), out of the plurality, a second node (112) to establish a connection with. The determining (307) is based on the received information. The first node then initiates (308) establishment of a connection or re-connection to the network via the second node (112), as first-hop.

  • Publication number: 20240040469
Abstract: Mechanisms for efficient transmission of large amount of download data from a base station to a user equipment in a multi-carrier that minimizes power consumption on the user equipment are described. When multiple component carriers are to be used to transmit the download data, the base station informs the user equipment. The base station transmits on the anchor carriers without wait after informing the user equipment and transmits on the non-anchor carriers after waiting a predetermined delay. The predetermined delay provides time to allow the user equipment to activate the receiving resources and be ready to receive the download data over the non-anchor carriers. In this manner, the user equipment can be in a power conservation mode and activate the receiver resources only when needed.

  • Patent number: 11817947
Abstract: A modulation technique, such as for example either Pi/2 BPSK or QPSK, is selected for transmission, based on a characteristic of the data to be transmitted, or the physical channel over which it is to be transmitted. The data characteristic may be the coding rate, or characteristics indirectly related to the coding rate, such as the number of coded bits or number of uncoded bits (payload size). The physical channel characteristic may for example be the physical channel bandwidth, the physical channel length, a number of physical channel modulation symbols, a number of the physical channel resource elements used for the data to be transmitted, or a number of the physical channel modulation symbols carrying the data to be transmitted.

  • Publication number: 20230362858
Abstract: Embodiments include methods performed by an integrated access backhaul (IAB) node configured for operation in an IAB network. Such methods include receiving, from an upstream node in the IAB network, first timing offset information related to communications between the IAB node and the upstream node. Such methods include transmitting a downlink (DL) signal to one or more downstream nodes in the IAB network. The DL signal is transmitted according to a DL transmission timing determined from the following: the IAB node's DL reception timing of a DL signal received from the upstream node; and a second timing value determined based on a first function of the first timing offset information, when the first function of the first timing offset information is greater than a threshold. Other embodiments also include IAB nodes configured to perform such methods.
