  • Publication number: 20260139962
Abstract: A method for matching environmental sensor scans that are designed to scan an environment and provide scans of the environment. The method includes the following method step. At least one matching transformation between a scan of an environmental sensor and a reference scan of an environmental sensor serving as a reference sensor is ascertained. When ascertaining the transformation, at least one further scan of the environmental sensor and/or of a further environmental sensor is taken into account.

  • Publication number: 20260139965
Abstract: A method for training a generator of a generative adversarial network. First sensor data from at least a first type of sensor and recorded in a first spatial region are provided. The generator is then used to generate generated map data from the first sensor data. The generated map data are then compared with already available map data using a discriminator of the generative adversarial network, and a determination is made whether the generated map data can be distinguished from the already available map data. If the generated map data can be distinguished from the already available map data, at least one parameter for generating the generated map data is adjusted. The method is then repeated. The method is terminated when the generated map data can no longer be distinguished from the already available map data.

  • Publication number: 20260049826
Abstract: Method for providing a machine learning binary classification model (7) for predicting the availability of a localization map, comprising the following steps of: a) performing a reference journey with a real vehicle, wherein a reference trajectory (1) and referenced landmark positions (2) surrounding the reference trajectory (1) are recorded, b) performing a journey along the reference trajectory (1) with a fictitious vehicle, wherein a trajectory (3) and landmark positions (4) surrounding the trajectory (3) are estimated using the localization function, c) providing a training data set having data points such that a data point comprises first information for describing a map section and second information for indicating the localization availability of that map section, wherein the map section corresponds to the environment of the reference trajectory (1), and the second information is determined based on the comparison of the reference trajectory (1) with the estimated trajectory (3) and/or on the compar

  • Patent number: 12405130
Abstract: A method for matching a digital road map to a digital reference road map, wherein the two road maps in each case include semantic information about objects represented on the two road maps. The method includes: associating objects on the road map with objects on the reference road map on the basis of the respective semantic information such that only objects with the same semantic information are associated with one another; matching the road map to the reference road map on the basis of the association, wherein the matching comprises creating a delta pose between the road map and the reference road map. A device, a computer program, and a machine-readable storage medium are also described.

  • Patent number: 12385759
Abstract: A method is provided for creating at least one map of vehicle surroundings with the aid of a control unit. It is checked based on a comparison between received measured data and stored or received map data, whether first features, for example semantic features, are present and complete. First features available in a vehicle surroundings are extracted from the received measured data if no or incomplete map data are present. It is checked whether a localization is possible within the vehicle surroundings with the aid of the first semantic features. If a localization is imprecise or not possible with the aid of the ascertained first features, second features are extracted from the received measured data. A digital map of vehicle surroundings is created based on the ascertained first features and/or the second features. Furthermore, a control unit, a computer program as well as a machine-readable memory medium are provided.
