Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for eliding load and store barriers while maintaining garbage collection invariants. Embodiments described herein include techniques for identifying an instruction, such as a safepoint poll, that checks whether to pause a thread between execution of a dominant and dominated access to the same data field. If a poll instruction is identified between the two data accesses, then a pointer for the data field may be recorded in an entry associated with the poll instruction. When the thread is paused to execute a garbage collection operation, the recorded information may be used to update values associated with the data field in memory such that the dominated access may be executed without any load or store barriers.

Abstract: A carrier basket for an automotive vehicle is disclosed which includes a base having at least one member for connecting to a roof of an automotive vehicle, a frame having two side rails oriented in a first direction and at least one transverse bar oriented cross to the side rails, wherein the side rails are connected to the at least one transverse bar, wherein the frame is attached upon the base as to form a box open to the top, wherein the at least one transverse bar includes a groove arranged for attachment of accessories and having a length, wherein the entire length of the groove is available for attaching accessories, and wherein the groove extends over a substantial portion of the distance between the two side rails.

Abstract: A loose leaf binder for apertured loose leaves comprises a pair of hinged plastic back sections having a substantially angular cross section, and a cover pivotally connected to each of said back sections. An elongated metal plate which is rigidly secured to each of said back sections is provided with a plurality of arcuate prongs lying in planes substantially perpendicular to the hinge axis. The binder also comprises a locking member and an elongated, slidable latch member for interengagement with said locking member. Means are provided for manually displacing said latch member in its longitudinal direction between a locking position and a release position against the action of spring means for resiliently biasing the latch member towards its locking position. At least one of said arcuate prongs is secured to said metal plate nearer, and extends at a smaller radial distance from, the hinge axis of said hinged back section than the other prongs.
