  • Patent number: 10830317
Abstract: Ratchet mill assemblies to permit precise horizontal cutting, one ratchet mill assembly comprising: a shaft with polygonal cross-section, wherein the shaft with polygonal cross-section can rotate and is supported by bearing brackets where each bearing bracket is attached to an end bracket; a handle bar coupled to end brackets by a handle boss on each end bracket; two pinion sprockets coupled to the shaft with polygonal cross-section; and two depth posts, each depth post having depth markings, and each depth post having a corresponding end bracket held in place on the corresponding depth post by a post clamp, wherein at least one post clamp is secured and tightened by way of a half U-bolt and a toggle lock clamp, wherein each pinion sprocket engages rack holes on a corresponding depth post to allow movement of a corresponding end bracket up and down the corresponding depth post.

  • Publication number: 20120037276
Abstract: The chainsaw apparatus of the present invention, comprising in part, a combination saw attachment and positioning assembly which in concert with a transverse guide rail assembly and a vertical level control assembly allows using a chain saw to alternatively make a cut or a series of cuts in either a vertical or horizontal plane, with said saw blade oriented in a longitudinal cutting direction, in a sawmill device; providing thus for making a cant without turning the log and for making dimensionally accurate cuts of lumber from a log or similar wood based substrate with a minimal number of cutting passes; a blade orientation fine tuning assembly allows of refining a true vertical or horizontal planar attitude of the blade. Two speed mechanical assist gantry travel and a double acting remote chain saw safety switch and throttle trigger control is also provided.

  • Patent number: 6754004
Abstract: An optical sight for a combat vehicle, intended to be mounted in a weapon turret of the vehicle in order to make possible sight lines at elevations between roughly −10° and 90° of a weapon barrel mounted pivotably about a horizontal axis in the weapon turret. The sight comprises a lower standard sight unit, which deflects vertical incident light by 90° to an eyepiece, and a top mirror, located above the standard sight unit and pivotable in synchronism with elevating movements of the barrel, likewise about a horizontal axis. Positioned above the standard sight unit is a deflection prism which has an upper surface which faces the top mirror, is inclined at roughly 45° to the vertical and is designed to reflect incident light at an angle of roughly 45° to the surface and less, but to transmit light which is incident at roughly 90° to the surface.

Abstract: The invention relates to an optical sight for a combat vehicle, intended to be mounted in a weapon turret (26) of the vehicle in order to make possible sight lines at elevations between roughly −10° and 90° of a weapon barrel mounted pivotably about a horizontal axis in the weapon turret. The sight comprises a lower standard sight unit (12), which deflects vertical incident light by 90° to an eyepiece (16), and a top mirror (18), located above the standard sight unit (12) and pivotable in synchronism with elevating movements of the barrel, likewise about a horizontal axis. Positioned above the standard sight unit (12) is a deflection prism (20) which has an upper surface (22) which faces the top mirror, is inclined at roughly 45° to the vertical and is designed to reflect incident light at an angle of roughly 45° to the surface and less, but to transmit light which is incident at roughly 90° to the surface (22).
