  • Patent number: 8661074
Abstract: Method and service node (10) for providing a service in a communication network (1). The service node (10) is arranged to evaluate a request comprising an expression (A), a function of multiple elements. The elements (eventually) relate to data originating from context sources (B, D, E) available in the communication network (1). Each of the one or more context sources (B, D, E) has an associated context source weight for a query by the service. The context source (E) for which evaluation of the expression has a lowest expression evaluation weight is determined, based on the associated context source weights, and this context source (E) is interrogated first.

  • Patent number: 8190175
Abstract: Service node for a telecommunication network and method for determining a group of n user terminals which are closest to a point of interest. First, a search range with an upper limit is set. Then in an iterative manner, a current search cell of the set of cells is determined and the search cell is queried for user data. The user terminals are added to a set of found user terminals, and if the set of found user terminals comprises n or more user terminals, the upper limit of the search range is adjusted to the nth lowest distance. This is repeated until no further possible cell can be determined. The set of criteria can be set and matched with obtained user data to find a closest user terminal having a specific role.

  • Patent number: 8036684
Abstract: Service node for a telecommunication network (15) and method for determining a group of n user terminals (21) which are closest to a point of interest (22). First, a search range with an upper limit (24) is set. Then in an iterative manner, a current search cell of the set of cells (1-10) is determined and the search cell is queried for user data. The user terminals (21) are added to a set of found user terminals, and if the set of found user terminals comprises n or more user terminals (21), the upper limit (24) of the search range is adjusted to the nth lowest distance. This is repeated until no further possible cell (1-10) can be determined. The set of criteria can be set and matched with obtained user data to find a closest user terminal (21) having a specific role.

  • Publication number: 20100220613
Abstract: Method for providing a service in a communication network (1), and service node (10) arranged to execute that service. The service node (10) is arranged to receive and evaluate a request from the service, the request comprising an expression having multiple elements. Each element relates to data originating from one or more context sources (B, D, E), which can provide the data to the service node (10), e.g. using context source proxies (B?, D?, E?). Each context source (B, D, E) updates its associate data using a request based mechanism or an event trigger based mechanism. One of the plurality of elements is selected, and if the selected element evaluates to false, the selected element is switched to a trigger mode. If the selected element evaluates to true, then a further element is interrogated.
