  • Publication number: 20240408238
Abstract: The present invention is related to the field of gene editing. In particular, the gene editing is directed toward single nucleotide base editing. For example, such single nucleotide base editing results in a conversion of a mutated base pair to a wild type base pair. The high accuracy and precision of the presently disclosed single nucleotide base gene editor is accomplished by a fusion protein including an NmeCas9 nuclease and an inlaid nucleotide deaminase protein domain. The Nme2Cas9 protospacer interacting domain may be replaced with an SmuCas9 protospacer interacting domain.

  • Patent number: 12149509
Abstract: Techniques for transferring data to a secure computing region that is isolated from any public networks is disclosed. In some embodiments, one or more artifacts for the secure computing region are packaged. As part of the packaging, one or more data packets and metadata for the one or more artifacts can be generated. The metadata indicates corresponding destination components for the one or more artifacts within the secure computing region. The data packet(s) are received and transmitted by a first data diode endpoint device. The first data diode endpoint device is configured to transmit data to the secure computing region via a second data diode endpoint device, the second data diode endpoint device being configured to restrict data from being transmitted to a destination outside of the secure computing region. The transmission of the one or more data packets may be monitored by the system.

  • Patent number: 12130842
Abstract: Methods and apparatus consistent with the invention provide the ability to organize and build understandings of machine data generated by a variety of information-processing environments. Machine data is a product of information-processing systems (e.g., activity logs, configuration files, messages, database records) and represents the evidence of particular events that have taken place and been recorded in raw data format. In one embodiment, machine data is turned into a machine data web by organizing machine data into events and then linking events together.

  • Publication number: 20240290053
Abstract: A display system includes a head-mounted display configured to project light, having different amounts of wavefront divergence, to an eye of a user to display virtual image content appearing to be disposed at different depth planes. The wavefront divergence may be changed in discrete steps, with the change in steps being triggered based upon whether the user is fixating on a particular depth plane. The display system may be calibrated for switching depth planes for a main user. Upon determining that a guest user is utilizing the system, rather than undergoing a full calibration, the display system may be configured to switch depth planes based on a rough determination of the virtual content that the user is looking at. The virtual content may have an associated depth plane and the display system may be configured to switch to the depth plane of that virtual content.

  • Patent number: 12067075
Abstract: In a general aspect, an optimization problem is solved using a hybrid computing system. A classical processor unit receives a first data structure that represents the optimization problem. The classical processor unit executes a branch-and-bound process on the first data structure to generate values for a first subset of elements of a solution to the optimization problem. A second data structure is generated based on the first data structure and the first subset of elements. The second data structure represents a reduced version of the optimization problem. A quantum processor unit and a classical processor unit are used to execute a quantum approximate optimization algorithm (QAOA) on the second data structure to generate values for a second subset of the elements of the solution to the optimization problem. The first subset and second subset are combined to obtain the solution to the optimization problem.

The first shaft includes a starter motor coupled to a second end of the first shaft. The clutch assembly includes a second clutch member disposed near a first end of a second shaft. The second clutch member defines a second surface opposing the first surface, and the second shaft includes an accessory gearbox of a gas turbine engine coupled to a second end of the second shaft. The surfaces of the first and second clutch member engage such that rotational motion is transferred between the first clutch member and the second clutch member. The first clutch member and the second clutch member are configured to passively disengage from each other and actively reengage with each other.
