  • Patent number: 8929226
Abstract: In a VoIP application where network packets must travel beyond the local internet provider, the network packet may be rerouted to avoid the open internet. The originating endpoint is provisioned to transmit network packets to the VoIP provider. The originating local internet provider receives the network packet from the originating endpoint, and transmits the network packet to the VoIP provider via a direct hand-off. The VoIP provider then transmits the network packet to the destination local internet provider via a direct hand-off. Finally, the destination local internet provider delivers the network packet to the destination end point. Transmission through the open internet is reserved as a back-up process, should transmission through the VoIP provider fail.

  • Publication number: 20130308467
Abstract: A system for virtual data network routing is provided, wherein network routers are deployed to multiple sites. Upon connecting the network routers to a public network, the network routers communicate their network location to a monitoring facility. The monitoring facility tests packet loss, latency, and packet hop count between various network routers on the virtual data network. The monitoring facility provides network routing tables to the network routers, allowing the network routers to transmit packets in an efficient manner, avoiding high packet loss, decreased transmission time, and maintaining quality of service requirements.

  • Publication number: 20120195236
Abstract: Utilizing the system for multilocation CLID provisioning, a VoIP carrier may hold two or more sets of CLID information for a given endpoint. A first set may be a Main CLID information set, containing the multilocation CLID information of a business's central telephone number and address. A second set may be an E911 CLID information set, containing the true telephone number and physical location. A third set of CLID information may likewise be stored for other purposes. Upon a VoIP endpoint dialing an emergency number, such as 911, the system for multilocation CLID provisioning allows a VoIP carrier to exchange the Main CLID information for the E911 CLID information prior to sending the information to the E911 gateway and connecting the endpoint with the PSAP. The PSAP is then able to view the E911 CLID information, thereby having a true physical location and telephone number associated with the calling endpoint.

  • Publication number: 20050235252
Abstract: A reporting tool for reporting innovation data includes a database and a processor. The database stores innovation data that includes information about the innovation capabilities of an entity. The processor retrieves the innovation data and processes the innovation data according to at least one metric, where metrics represent innovation goals of the entity. A user role is determined, and a report for the entity including the processed innovation data is generated according to the user role.
