  • Patent number: 11635604
Abstract: A luminous flux collector comprises a housing, a wide-angle light capturing device and an optical collimating device, arranged around a longitudinal axis. The housing surrounds and protects the wide-angle light capturing device and the optical collimating device. The housing also provides structural support to hold the other elements in position. The wide-angle light capturing device can include a receptacle for receiving a light source, and the wide-angle light capturing device collects light with a spread angle of at least 120 degrees from the light source. The wide-angle light capturing device is disposed within a proximal end of the housing along the longitudinal axis. The optical collimating device extends from the wide-angle light capturing device to a distal end of the housing along the longitudinal axis.

  • Publication number: 20210396373
Abstract: A vehicle mounted pedestrian communication lamp including a housing defining an inner package space for receiving a main illuminating component and at least one secondary component for providing variable depictions based upon a processor input to the secondary element. The secondary element further includes at least one individual matrix display containing a plurality of illuminating elements. The illuminating elements each further include any of LED, TFFL, transparent LCD or OLED displays. The individual matrix display further includes either of a rigid or flexible display. The flexible display may also include a thin film transistor (TFT) display. Other features includes a pair of secondary illuminating components provided on either side of the main illuminating component. The main illuminating component can also be provided as a fog lamp. The processor communicates with an external input via any of Bluetooth or Near Field Communication protocols.

  • Publication number: 20210396911
Abstract: An optical grade injection molded lens and process for forming including injection molding a liquid silicone polymer material into a mold configuration to form a base component of the lens and incorporating a phosphorescent composition into the liquid silicone polymer. The phosphorescent composition occurs in either a single or multiple injection molding steps of the liquid silicone polymer. Additional injection molding steps provide for forming a decorative feature into the lens, as well as forming a colorized ring from a further injection molding of a liquid silicone polymer. The silicone optical lens is produced according to the process of the present invention is integrated into a lamp assembly including a housing and one or more illuminating elements which, upon being deactivated, provides the desired long term afterglow effect.

  • Publication number: 20190104285
Abstract: An automotive animated image projector comprises a light source emitting a light beam, a microelectromechanical system projector aligned to receive the light beam and project an animated image onto a target surface, a computer system programmed to control the light source and the microelectromechanical system with commands to produce the animated image, and a transmission link for sending the commands from the computer system to the light source and the microelectromechanical system projector. In some embodiments, the target surface is the ground next to a vehicle and the animated image illuminates the ground to assist entry into, and exit from, the vehicle. A method is also provided of projecting an animated image from an automotive animated image projector.
