Patent number: 7475765Abstract: A roller for a conveyor system is comprised of a body portion that is generally cylindrical and rotatable about a central axis. A first bearing surface is defined around the body portion. A second bearing surface is raised above the first bearing surface and is generally concentric to the first bearing surface, the second bearing surface being more resilient than the first bearing surface.Type: GrantFiled: June 20, 2007Date of Patent: January 13, 2009Assignee: American Sterilizer CompanyInventors: Erik Nadeau, Serge Coulombe

Patent number: 7431141Abstract: A conveyor system for conveying a basket or rack through a chamber having a system for stopping a rack at a predetermined location along the conveyor. The system is comprised of a rocker device mounted relative to the chamber. The rocker device has a first normal position wherein the rocker device is movable from the first normal position when the rack engages the rocker device. The rocker device has an upper arm and a lower arm. The rocker device is rotatable about an axis disposed between the upper arm and the lower arm. A magnet is disposed on the lower arm of the rocker device. A sensing element is aligned with the magnet when the rocker device is in the first normal position. The sensing element is operable to provide a signal to a system controller. A stop is mounted relative to the chamber. The stop is rotatable from a first position to a second position. The stop has a tab dimensioned to engage the rack in the conveyor system when the stop is in the first position.Type: GrantFiled: June 20, 2007Date of Patent: October 7, 2008Assignee: American Sterilizer CompanyInventors: Erik Nadeau, Louis Martineau, Michel Emond, Serge Coulombe

Patent number: 7000354Abstract: A cable failure device for a cable-operated door operated by a tensioned cable, the cable-operated door having a movement guided along a fixed structure, such as a guide rail. The cable failure device is configured for cooperating with the tensioned cable so as to immobilize the cable-operated door with respect to the fixed structure in the event of a loss of tension in the cable.Type: GrantFiled: January 27, 2004Date of Patent: February 21, 2006Assignee: Canimex Inc.Inventors: Michel Beaudoin, Érik Nadeau, Pierre-Louis Foucault, Jean-François Lévesque

Patent number: 6986378Abstract: A braking device configured for use with the counterbalancing system of a garage door. The braking device includes a support bracket, a ratchet wheel, a pawl arm, and a biasing spring. The support bracket is rigidly connected to a fixed structure and has a guiding slot. The ratchet wheel is securely mounted about the overhead shaft of the counterbalancing system and has at least one notch. The pawl arm has first and second ends, the first end of the pawl arm being pivotally connected to the support bracket and the second end of the pawl arm cooperating with the guiding slot and being movable with respect to the support bracket along said guiding slot. The first and second ends of the pawl arm are further connected to flanges of a plug on either side of the overhead shaft. The biasing spring is operatively connected between the support bracket and the pawl arm so as to exert a biasing force for biasing the pawl arm towards the ratchet wheel.Type: GrantFiled: March 19, 2003Date of Patent: January 17, 2006Assignee: Canimex Inc.Inventors: Michel Beaudoin, Erik Nadeau, Pierre-Louis Foucault, Jean-François Lévesque, Pascal Provencher, François Beaudoin

Publication number: 20020117787Abstract: A leaf bumper assembly for stopping displacement of a garage door guided along a side rail track. The leaf bumper assembly includes a bracket and a strap. The bracket has a first portion rigidly connected to a fixed structure and a second portion positioned to abut with an edge of the garage door for stopping displacement thereof. The strap has a first end affixed to the first portion of the bracket and a second end affixed to the second portion of the bracket. By virtue of its design, the leaf bumper assembly prevents broken pieces from falling to the ground when the bracket of the assembly is broken.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 19, 2002Publication date: August 29, 2002Applicant: CANIMEX INC.Inventors: Michel Beaudoin, Pierre-Louis Foucault, Erik Nadeau
