Abstract: A cervical tenaculum device is disclosed that grasps the cervix in a manner to reduce trauma to the tissue, while providing unimpeded visual access and instrument access to the cervical os. The suction chamber encircles the external os and uniformly distributes negative pressure in the suction chamber around the engaged surface of the cervix. An opening through a middle portion of the bell allows access to the external os when the bell is engaged, such that the external os remains unobstructed.
