Publication number: 20250053639Abstract: A method is provided to protect a stack of return addresses from manipulation. The return address indicates where to return in a computer program after a subroutine is called. In the method, an encryption key and an initial tweak value is selected. For a return address to be stored on the stack, a first chained address is generated by encrypting the return address with the encryption key and the initial tweak value. The first chained address is provided to the stack instead of the return address. For a subsequent return address that is subsequent to the return address, a second chained address is generated by encrypting the subsequent return address with the encryption key and the first chained address. The second chained address is provided to the stack instead of the subsequent return address. The method provides effective protection without requiring additional memory in a memory limited system.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 8, 2023Publication date: February 13, 2025Inventors: Marcel Medwed, Erik Kraft, Jan Hoogerbrugge, Tobias Schneider

Publication number: 20240216222Abstract: A closed system transfer device includes a first adaptor and a second adaptor that attach with one another in a coupled state to form a sealed fluid passage between two reservoirs. The first adaptor can be attached to a first reservoir, and the second adaptor can be attached to a second reservoir. One or both adaptors can include a septum that engages another septum during coupling and decoupling to prevent liquid or vapor from being released to the environment. The device can also include a vent line that equalizes pressure between the two reservoirs. The vent line can include at least one filter to filter gas in device. In addition, or in the alternative, the vent line can be connected in fluid communication with an inflatable membrane that stores gas inside the device and assists in equalizing pressure.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 28, 2022Publication date: July 4, 2024Inventors: Karl-Martin Berg, Florin Kopp, Uwe Erik Schneider, Varaprasad Sikhile, Christian Walter, Bruce W. Patent number: 10275506Abstract: This disclosure describes devices, architectures, and techniques to coordinate data related to separate services to help create a more robust user experience for a user accessing either or both of the separate services. For instance, if the user currently accesses two separate services that relate to a common subject matter, techniques of this disclosure will provide data from one of the services when the user accesses the other. In one example, an activity feed that includes activities relating to both a first service and a second service may be generated and displayed to a user accessing the first service.Type: GrantFiled: December 20, 2013Date of Patent: April 30, 2019Assignee: Amazon Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Donald Erik Schneider, Kieran Sean Fitzpatrick, Brian Mitchell Percival, Anne Randolph Marshall, Philip Daniel Piwonka

Patent number: 10078105Abstract: A unique electrical system includes a first electrical component and a second electrical component. A conductor electrically couples the first electrical component with the second electrical component. A sensor is constructed to sense an AC power flow in the conductor and output an AC signal proportional to the AC power flow. A band-pass filter is in electrical communication with the sensor and constructed to receive and filter the AC signal and to generate an AC voltage proportional on the AC signal. Publication number: 20130034632Abstract: Nutritional supplements and methods for making and using such supplements are described. In particular, this application describes nutritional supplements with a first part containing an effective amount of a lipoic acid (such as ALA) and a second part containing an effective amount of a sulfur containing compound that increases the level of cellular glutathione (such as NAC). The first and second parts are kept partially or completely separated from each other, thereby minimizing their reaction and maximizing their effectiveness. Such nutritional supplements can be administered to mammals to increase the levels of glutathione while maintaining or increasing the stability of these two components while they are contained in the supplement. Patent number: 7748356Abstract: The invention relates to a valve train for internal combustion engines, comprising a camshaft and valve actuation elements for one or more valves, the elements being located in the cylinder head. The aim of the invention is to provide a valve train for an internal combustion engine, with which a reliable stroke adjustment of the valves can be made, without the need for complex technical resources, while at the same time allowing a forward or rear displacement of the valve orifice region. To achieve this, in order to modify the valve stroke curve, the contact point between the transfer member and the cam can be displaced along the periphery of the cam and the contact point between the transfer member and a control curve of the support body can be displaced, forcing the part of the transfer member that interacts with the cam to be guided, by shifting the transfer member in relation to the camshaft.Type: GrantFiled: February 24, 2006Date of Patent: July 6, 2010Assignee: IAV GmbH Ingenieurgesellschaft Auto und VerkehrInventors: Markus Meyer, Erik Schneider, Lutz Stiegler, Andreas Werler, Jörg Wutzler
