Publication number: 20250121644Abstract: A twist beam axle has two side arms and a twist profile. The twist profile is joined to a side arm by a weld. At least in the area of the welded joint, the twist profile has a wall with a wall thickness that is greater than the wall thickness of a wall of one side arm. The twist profile has a joining surface at each end section and the side arms each have a joining surface, wherein the twist profile and the side arms are each joined at mutually facing joining surfaces by a weld. The joining surface on the end section of the twist profile has a bevel manufactured without cutting. The joining gap formed between the mutually facing joining surfaces of the end section and the side arm is configured in a V-shape.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 11, 2024Publication date: April 17, 2025Inventors: Lars CLAUSSEN, Olaf HERTEL, Andreas RIECKMANN, Eduard SCHMIDT-BELJAWSKI, Klaus SCHNEIDER, Erik SCHULTZ

Publication number: 20250121426Abstract: A motor vehicle component has two component parts made of steel with different wall thicknesses, which are arranged at an angle ? to one another and are connected by a weld seam. A joining surface at the end portion of the first component part has a bevel produced without cutting. In order to form the bevel, an end portion of an initial blank is formed without cutting. The end portion is then trimmed at the end and an abutment surface is created on the front side of the end portion. The two component parts are positioned relative to each other so that the joining surface of the first component part and the joining surface of the second component part face each other. The material-locking joining of the first component part and the second component part is achieved by a weld seam on the joining surfaces.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 11, 2024Publication date: April 17, 2025Inventors: Guenter FORTMEIER, Thomas HENKSMEIER, Norbert NIGGEMEYER, Erik SCHULTZ

Patent number: 11104200Abstract: The disclosure relates to a method for producing an axle component for a motor vehicle, in which at least two metallic axle parts are joined integrally to one another. The axle component is a twist beam axle, in which lateral trailing arms are connected to each other via a transverse profile. In order to establish a target geometry of the axle component, the heat induced by a welding operation is utilized. The welding operation can be a specifically positioned weld, an additional weld or a blind weld. The heat of welding is utilized in order to achieve a compensation deformation and to compensate for distortion states and/or to align the axle component.Type: GrantFiled: August 22, 2019Date of Patent: August 31, 2021Assignee: BENTELER AUTOMOBILTECHNIK GMBHInventors: Soeren Beilfuss, Mesut Suerahi, Goddy Hutabarat, Erik Schultz

Patent number: 4516592Abstract: For washing a milker unit, the teat cups are inserted in respective flexible receivers which seal around the enlarged end portions of the teat cups and communicate with a distributor having an inlet connected to a vacuum line for washing liquid. During washing, a high vacuum in the milk pipe line raises a valve in the distributor, while closing a drain opening therefrom, and draws washing liquid through the distributor, the receivers, the teat cups therein, the milk claw connected to the teat cups, and then into the milk pipe line for washing the latter. After washing, atmospheric pressure prevailing in the milker unit and distributor allows the valve to drop to a position where excess washing liquid can drain through said opening. For milking, the teat cups are applied to the cow after removing them from the receivers, which are then stored by simply pushing them upwardly onto respective holders where they are automatically closed against entrance of dirt.Type: GrantFiled: February 29, 1984Date of Patent: May 14, 1985Assignee: Alfa-Laval, Inc.Inventors: Per-Erik Schultz, Mofazzal H.
