  • Patent number: 9942347
Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for dynamically adjusting the amount of media content to be cached by a client device streaming media from a streaming device. An initial amount of media content is transmitted for caching to the client device from the streaming device. The location of a client device can be used to determine a connectivity interruption probability between the client device and the streaming device. The amount of media content for caching on the client device is adjusted based on the connectivity interruption probability, and the adjusted amount of media content is transmitted to the client device.

  • Patent number: 9379933
Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for dynamically adjusting the amount of media content to transmit to a client for caching during a media streaming event. To begin, the location of the user may be determined. Based on the location of the user, a route may be predicted if the user is moving. A future connectivity interruption in the network coverage may be identified by comparing known areas of network coverage with the location of the user and/or the predicted route. Based on the likelihood of a future connectivity interruption, the amount of media content to transmit to a client for caching may be dynamically adjusted so that the user have a seamless media experience even in times of network coverage disconnect.

  • Publication number: 20150030752
Abstract: Pellet compositions derived from agricultural combustible biomass and oil-retaining seed mash are described. A lubricant such as glycerol or glycerin may also be included to increase pelletability and increase the BTU/lb of the pellets. The components used for making the pellets are byproducts of biofuel production and typically have little economic value. Pellet composition advantageously include the use on material derived from Camelina plants as the combustible biomass and seed mash. Methods of making the pellets are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20140343539
Abstract: A proximal control apparatus for providing a healthcare professional with proximal control over a guide wire and an elongated medical device, such as a catheter, installed over the catheter is disclosed. The proximal control apparatus includes a relatively short guide wire extender and a housing with a passageway for receiving the guide wire extender and a portion of an elongated medical device installed over the guide wire extender. The guide wire extender has a curvilinear configuration that corresponds to a curvilinear configuration of the passageway through the housing. These complementary configurations secure the guide wire extender within the passageway as an elongated medical instrument is installed onto and moved along the guide wire extender and a guide wire that has been coupled to a distal end of the guide wire extender.

  • Patent number: 8314594
Abstract: System and method for estimating the time before recharging the rechargeable power source of an implantable medical device. In a method, the present charge level of the power source is determined by determining the percentage of total charge consumed over a period of time. The present charge level is then divided by the expected power use to determine time remaining before recharging. Another method utilizes a model to determine the faded capacity of the rechargeable power source based on the number of times the rechargeable power source has been charged and the duration of the rechargeable power source's life.
