  • Publication number: 20110139131
Abstract: An arrangement for a supercharged combustion engine (2), including at least one compressor (6a, 6b) for compressing air in a first cooling system, the first cooling system having a first circulating coolant, a second cooling system with a second circulating coolant which during normal operation of the combustion engine is at a lower temperature than the first coolant in the first cooling system, at least one charge air cooler (9a, 9c) applied in the air inlet line (8) and being cooled by coolant from the second cooling system. The second cooling system includes a first radiator element (24) and a second radiator element (36) arranged in series with the first radiator element (24) in the second cooling system, so that at least part of the coolant which circulates in the second cooling system undergoes two steps of temperature lowering during a single round of circulation in the second cooling system.

  • Publication number: 20110088668
Abstract: An arrangement for a supercharged combustion engine including a first compressor (6a) subjecting air to a first compression step, a second compressor (6b) subjecting the air to a second compression step, a first cooling system with a circulating coolant, a second cooling system with a circulating coolant which is at a lower temperature than the coolant in the first cooling system, a first charge air cooler (9a) applied to an air inlet line to the engine for cooling compressed air, the first cooler is located between the first compressor (6a) and the second compressor (6b) and is cooled by coolant from the second cooling system, a second charge air cooler (9b) applied to the air inlet line at a location downstream of the second compressor (6b) and is cooled by coolant from the first cooling system, and a third charge air cooler (9c) applied at a location downstream of the second charge air cooler (9b) and cooled by coolant from the second cooling system.

  • Publication number: 20100000475
Abstract: An arrangement for warming the oil in a gearbox in a vehicle powered by a combustion engine. A first pipe system with a first flow device which makes possible circulation of oil from the combustion engine through a heat exchanger. A second pipe system with a second flow device makes possible circulation of oil from the gearbox through the heat exchanger. A control device controls the flow devices so that flow of oil through the heat exchanger is obtained in situations in which the oil in the gearbox is at a too low temperature with respect to a desired temperature. The motor oil in the combustion engine can thus be used for heating the oil in the gearbox during cold starts of the combustion engine.

  • Publication number: 20080053090
Abstract: An arrangement for recirculation of exhaust gases of a supercharged combustion engine. The arrangement comprises an exhaust line operable to lead exhaust gases out from the combustion engine, an inlet line operable to lead air at above atmospheric pressure to the combustion engine, a return line which connects the exhaust line to the inlet line so that via the return line, it is possible to recirculate exhaust gases from the exhaust line to the inlet line. An EGR cooler in which the recirculating exhaust gases in the return line are cooled by a coolant before they are mixed with the air in the inlet line. The exhaust gases in the EGR cooler are cooled by a circulating coolant which is adapted to being at a temperature substantially corresponding to the temperature of the surroundings of the engine when the coolant is led into the EGR cooler.

  • Publication number: 20080047267
Abstract: An arrangement for recirculation of exhaust gases of a supercharged combustion engine. A return line which connects an engine exhaust line to an air inlet line for air supply to the combustion engine, to recirculate exhaust gases via the return line. A first EGR cooler in which the recirculating exhaust gases in the return line are cooled, as a first step, by a first coolant in a first cooling system. A second EGR cooler in which the recirculating exhaust gases in the return line are cooled, as a second step, by a second coolant in a second cooling system, and the second coolant is adapted to be at a temperature substantially corresponding to the temperature of the ambient surroundings when it is led into the second EGR cooler. A charge air cooler for the inlet line, a radiator for the second cooling system to cool the exhaust gases and a radiator element for cooling the second coolant.
