A current operating pattern is generated from the current operating characteristics and is compared to an operating pattern of another vehicle that was involved in an incident to generate a current profile of the vehicle. The profile is adjusted based on an operator profile for the current operator of the vehicle. As the operator operates the vehicle, the current-operator or insurance policy is automatically adjusted in real time as the profile changes in response to changes in the operating characteristics of the vehicle.
