Abstract: A markable bottle cap is characterized by a cap configured for use with a variety of bottles, jars, or containers wherein the upper surface of the cap is configured to receive at least one marking by a user. In some embodiments, the upper surface may provide for a scratch-off layer, a rough texture layer, or a magic slate layer. To use the present invention, a user may, in any order, threadedly attach the cap to a container such as a bottle or jar, apply at least one marking to the upper surface, and then identify the user's beverage as needed.
