  • Patent number: 8996013
Abstract: A method and system identifies a data file for transfer to a user. The invention also detects the movement of the user device from which the data file transfer was made and calculates a projected path for movement of the user device. Based on the projected path of movement, the sections of the requested data file are transferred in parallel to node areas where the user device is projected to move according to the projected path. As the user enters a node area, the section of the data file downloaded to that node area is locally transferred to the user device and thereby substantially reducing download time of a large data file.

  • Publication number: 20110207441
Abstract: OTTER is download-able software for any smartphone in the form of an application (aka: “app”). OTTER is the first app of its kind to interface with the existing smartphone GPS functions to triangulate position and determine speed while generating a texting Auto Reply to any incoming text. This is known as OTTER's GPS Mode and when it detects speed in excess of 10 miles per hour, it silences all text alerts (chimes and buzzes) and sends back an Auto Reply saying “The OTTER user is driving”. All incoming phone call ringtones are also silenced while driving unless a wireless Bluetooth device is enabled. This prevents a driver from fumbling for a ringing or buzzing phone while driving. OTTER's Parental Control feature was built to empower parents with their teen drivers. A parent can lock the aforementioned GPS Mode on a teen's phone with a session specific passcode.

  • Publication number: 20080003561
Abstract: An auto-nucleating device includes a hollow tube containing a crystalline cholesterol matrix therein. The ends of the tube are closed by a membrane that is impermeable to the cholesterol but permeable to liquids contained in a cryopreservation vessel. The auto-nucleating device is disposed within the vessel and provides a site for ice nucleation during freezing of the liquid within the vessel. One such cryopreservation vessel is a flexible vial having a closed port at one adapted to be pierced by a needle to withdraw the liquid within. The opposite end of the vial is initially open to receive the liquid. The end is then sealed to form a closed system for cryopreservation. Another cryopreservation vessel includes an adaptor mounted to a port of a liquid container. The adaptor includes one tubular branch that is closed by a needle septum while another tubular branch includes a barbed fitting for engaging a flexible tube. The flexible term terminates in a needle septum.
