Erin D. O'Driscoll has filed for patents to protect the following inventions. This listing includes patent applications that are pending as well as patents that have already been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

  • Patent number: 6709742
Abstract: Elastic fibers are described that comprise (i) a polyolefin polymer, e.g., a homogeneously branched, preferably substantially linear, ethylene polymer, and (ii) a photoinitiator, e.g., an aromatic ketone, in an amount sufficient to effect at least a partial cross-linking of the polymer when the fiber is exposed to sufficient UV-radiation to activate the photoinitiator. Articles, e.g., fabrics, comprising fibers of this invention, either alone or in combination with one or more other fibers, e.g., cellulose, nylon, etc., exhibit good heat resistance and elasticity at elevated temperatures.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 31, 2001
Date of Patent: March 23, 2004
    Assignee: Dow Global Technologies Inc.
Inventors: Mladen Ladika, John Klier, Ashish Sen, Erin D. O'Driscoll, Nancy J. Schrock, Antonio Batistini

  • Patent number: 6200941
Abstract: Fully diluted hard surface cleaners are disclosed which are particularly effective on cleaning soap scum. The cleaners contain at least 0.45 eq/kg of a dissolved anion which reacts with calcium ion to form an insoluble salt. The cleaners also contain a particular amine oxide, or a different surfactant in conjunction with a solvent. Preferred embodiments include a bleach, which provide for a cleaner which is effective on soap scum and mold and mildew.

  • Patent number: 6143820
Abstract: A water-soluble polymer having a low polydispersity index and controlled molecular weight can be prepared by oxidative degradation and shearing of a water-swellable crosslinked polymer or by hydrolysis of the crosslinked polymer to a high molecular weight soluble polymer, followed by oxidative degradation of the high molecular weight polymer.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: November 7, 2000
    Assignee: The Dow Chemical Company
