  • Publication number: 20240001602
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a nonwoven extruded industrial fabric. A method of manufacture of the industrial fabric is crosshead extruding a polymeric matrix material with linear components. The linear components crosshead extruded with the polymeric matrix material may be continuous systems oriented in the machine direction. The polymeric resin matrix at least partially encompasses one or more of the linear components. The resin matrix may likewise be further reinforced by the inclusion of nanoparticles, nanomaterials, and/or chopped fibers. A faceside of the industrial belt may be smooth or may include a texture or pattern.

  • Publication number: 20230332353
Abstract: The invention relates to an industrial fabric, such as a texturing belt, used to create three-dimensional structures in a product produced thereon, e.g., in the papermaking field, such as for fiber products, and in nonwoven processes. The invention concerns a texturing belt that can impart an endless variety of complex patterns utilizing discretization, such as, wherein individual subunits that comprise a pattern element are not connected, and therefore do not act as a stressed member of the texturing belt.

  • Publication number: 20230074867
Abstract: The instant invention relates to an industrial fabric for producing a textured product, wherein the industrial fabric has a first layer, such as a woven base fabric, and a second layer, such as a film, that extends over at least a portion of a top surface of the first layer. The second layer has macro voids and micro voids. In certain embodiments, the macro voids impart a texture in a fiber product produced on the industrial fabric, whereas the micro voids limit or prevent penetration of the fibers of the product into the micro voids while at the same time increasing permeability of the industrial fabric.
