  • Publication number: 20120061048
Abstract: An oil cooler includes a heat exchanger core having a plurality of plates laid one upon another to define each of an oil passage through which oil flows and a coolant passage through which coolant flows, between the plates. An uppermost plate of the plates has a core coolant inlet and a core coolant outlet. The core coolant inlet and the core coolant outlet are communicated with the coolant passage. A flow passage control valve is disposed on an uppermost part of the heat exchanger core and has a first coolant introduction opening through which coolant at a relatively high temperature is supplied and a second coolant introduction opening through which coolant at a relatively low temperature is supplied. The first coolant introduction opening and the second coolant introduction opening are changed over to be communicated with the core coolant inlet.

  • Patent number: 6101996
Abstract: An oil filter unit comprising a housing (4) and a filter element (14) accommodated therein is fitted to an engine (1) via a bracket (3) having a cylindrical holder (5). The housing (4) is secured to the holder (5) by screwing a male screw (19) on its outer circumference to a female screw (17) formed in the inner circumference of the holder (5). A first cut-out (24) is formed across the female screw (17) and a second cut-out (23) is formed across the male screw (19). When these cut-outs (24, 23) meet together, they form a drain passage which drains the oil in the housing (4) to outside. With this construction, the oil in the housing is drained via a predetermined path and prevented from scattering around, when the filter unit is removed from the engine (1).

  • Patent number: 4926914
Abstract: A vent control valve for controlling fuel vapor flow from a fuel tank to a vapor storage canister during fuel supply to the fuel tank. The vent control valve is fixedly attached to a fuel filler tube and formed therein with first and second chambers. The first and second chambers are located side by side on an immaginary plane along the fuel filler tube. The first and second chambers are communicated respectively with the fuel tank and the vapor storage canister. A valve mechanism is provided between the first and second chambers and adapted to cause the first and second chambers to communicate with each other so as to allow fuel vapor in the fuel tank to flow into the vapor storage canister, when opened. The valve mechanism is opened when a fuel supply gun is inserted into the fuel filler tube to supply fuel into the fuel tank.

  • Patent number: 4892136
Abstract: An automotive oil cooler used in combination with an oil filter. The oil cooler is comprised of a heat exchange element which is constructed of a plurality of heat transmission plates. The heat transmission plates are piled up one upon another and fixedly secured by brazing in such a manner as to define oil and water flowing spaces on the opposite sides of each heat transmission plate. Oil and water flow through the oil and water flowing spaces, respectively. The heat exchange element is formed with a plurality of oil supply passages through which oil is supplied to the oil filter, an oil inflow passage communicating with the oil flowing space to receive oil from the oil filter, an oil outflow passage communicating with the oil flowing space to receive oil from the oil flowing space, a water inflow passage communicating with the water flowing passage, and a water outflow passage communicating with the water flowing space to receive water from the water flowing space.
