Abstract: A scanning device and methods for generating floorplans by combining different scans of a large area are provided. During scanning, a preview of the scanned area is shown on a display of the scanning device to assist a user to orientate the scanning device to scan the space. The scanning device is further configured to display instructions/prompts to the user to assist in scanning. For example, the device may prompt the user to pause scanning when device memory becomes depleted. A method for generating a floorplan from multiple scans comprises pausing a first scan a reference point and commencing a second scan at the reference. The reference point is used to combine the first scan data and the second scan data to generate an overall floorplan of the scanned space.

The method includes: determining digital content requested by a user via a selected user device; determining digital rights associated with the digital content; reviewing the digital rights to determine access rights relating to authorized devices for the user; determining whether the user has exhausted the access rights; and if the access rights are exhausted: determining at least one use factor for each of the user's previously authorized user devices; determining a previously authorized user device on which to revoke access to the digital content based on the at least one use factor; and revoking access rights to the previously authorized user associated device; otherwise downloading the digital content on the selected user device. The system includes a content review module and a revoker module.

Abstract: A system and method for tracing polygons in a drawing source file. The method includes extracting vector imagery from the source file, creating a planar representation of the vector imagery as a plurality of lines, filtering the plurality of lines to create simplified line art, morphologically dilating the simplified line art to generate a polygonal approximation, calculating geometric difference between the source file canvas bounds and the polygonal approximation to identify contracted polygons, morphologically dilating the contracted polygons to create visual polygons, and filtering the visual polygons according to one or more geometric parameters to identify salient polygons.

Abstract: Systems and methods for providing indoor navigation to emergency services are disclosed. The methods involve storing at least one electronic map of a facility and at least one annotation for the at least one electronic map. The at least one annotation can be representative of a service resource within the facility. The method also involves receiving a traversed area from at least one computing device within the facility during an event; determining a total traversed area based on the traversed area from each of the at least one computing device during the event; and providing the at least one annotation and the total traversed area within the at least one electronic map to be displayed on at least one graphical user interface.

Abstract: Systems and methods for creating electronic indoor maps for emergency services are provided. The system has a processor operatively coupled to at least one storage unit and a communication component, the processor being configured for: receiving a service provider identifier from a computing device of at least one computing device; granting the computing device access to an annotation layer of an electronic map of at least one electronic map based on the service provider identifier; generating at least one annotation in response to receiving at least one selection of a service resource within a facility from the computing device; and storing the at least one annotation in the annotation layer.

Abstract: Systems and methods for semantic segmentation of a source geometry are provided. The method includes providing a vector image of a location; generating a raster image from the vector image, the raster image including at least one partition, the at least one partition including a plurality of pixels; assigning a pixel class label to each of the plurality of pixels, the pixel class label including a usage type; and assigning a partition class label to the at least one partition based on the pixel class labels assigned to the plurality of pixels, wherein the partition class label includes a usage type for the partition.

Abstract: Computer-implemented systems and methods for geometry simplification and filtering are provided. The systems and methods may provide for automated simplification and filtering of visually complex architectural diagrams to their most important features, as may be desirable for creating maps that are true to real world instantiations. The method may use a conditional generative adversarial network (cGAN) that may be particularly well suited to identifying geometry in feature-poor architectural drawings.

Abstract: Methods, devices, and systems for indoor mapping are described herein. The methods include providing an indoor map containing a current location of a user device, the indoor map having a containing exterior space, a contained interior space within the containing exterior space, and a linkage, the linkage having a coordinate transformation to project coordinates of the interior space onto coordinates of the exterior space. The methods also include receiving a point of interest, determining a path from the current location to the point of interest, the current location and the point of interest being in walkable areas, the path including a transition between the interior space and the exterior space, and providing instructions to navigate along the path, the coordinates of the interior space and the coordinates of the exterior space are referenced by either the instructions prior to the transition and the instructions after the transition.

Abstract: Provided is a system and a method for generating a printable map of a facility. The method includes receiving a request sent by a device at a print server, retrieving electronic wayfinding data by the print server, generating an initial printable map based on the electronic wayfinding data, displaying the initial printable map on the device, receiving one or more customizations entered on the device by a user, and updating the initial printable map to include the one or more customizations.

The mobile device also displays the facility map, displays a route from a start location to a destination location on the facility map, and updates the start location to the first location and the destination location to the second location by synchronizing with the interactive public display device.
