Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for generating the ringing tone of a phone and apparatus according to the method. A ringing tone generator (12)is controlled according to a ringing tone sequence by control circuitry (13), and subscriber identification information is stored in a fixed or a detachably connectable nonvolatile memory (10) of the phone.
