Patent number: 8291981Abstract: The present invention regards a device designed for injection of fluids in a well bore, typically an offshore well bore for petroleum production and gas injection/gas lift system for fluid injection. The device comprises a outer hollow housing with an internal body moveable within the outer housing which in a first closed position is closed with a metal to metal seal system between the outer housing and the internal body, which internal body is operated by pressure differential across the internal body. The internal movable body is connected to the outer hollow housing by means of a retainer key. The retainer key comprises a shear arrangement and is arranged to keep the valve in a fixed closed position, where fluid pressure is to overcome the pretension of the retainer key in order to open the device. When the device is shear opened, it can be kept in this open position as the retainer key is locked to the outer hollow housing.Type: GrantFiled: September 9, 2008Date of Patent: October 23, 2012Assignee: Petroleum Technology Company ASInventors: Magnar Tveiten, Øyvind Stokka, Erling Kleppa, Tom Norland, Ole Sevheim

Publication number: 20110067879Abstract: The present invention relates to a valve device which is employed in connection with oil and gas wells with the object of increasing the well's production. The valve device comprises an external housing (1), where at least one inlet (4) in the external housing (1) is connected to an outlet (5) through a longitudinal bore in the housing's (1) longitudinal direction. Furthermore, between the valve device's inlet and outlet (4, 5) there is mounted a valve seat (2) in the bore, where a valve body (3) shuts off the connection between the inlet and the outlet (4, 5). The valve body's (3) position is controlled by a support (20), which support (20) is connected with a pressure-sensitive bellows device (6) comprising an upper and a lower bellows element (7, 71).Type: ApplicationFiled: March 13, 2009Publication date: March 24, 2011Applicant: PETROLEUM TECHNOLOGY COMPANY ASInventors: Erling Kleppa, Oyvind Stokka, Ole Sevheim

Publication number: 20110042066Abstract: Present invention regards a device for injection and stimulation of fluids in a wellbore, where the device is typically is installed in Christmas trees, wellheads or subsea. The device comprises two separable sections, where the section that is mounted/arranged within the Christmas tree or wellhead, will remain in a closed position even if the other section due to external forces is broken off or in other ways is damaged.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 10, 2009Publication date: February 24, 2011Applicant: PETROLEUM TECHNOLOGY COMPANY ASInventors: Ole Sevheim, Oyvind Stokka, Erling Kleppa, Magnar Tveiten

Publication number: 20100155079Abstract: The present invention relates to a valve device comprising an external structure with a longitudinal axis and a valve seat, and a valve body mounted movably inside the external structure. The valve device comprises a first bellows device permitted to be moved in a substantially radial direction, in fluid connection with a first fluid, and hydraulically connected to a second bellows device permitted to be moved in a substantially axial direction. The second bellows device is connected to a first part piston cooperating with a second part piston, thereby giving the second part piston an oppositely directed movement relative to the first part piston, which thereby moves the valve body relative to the valve seat. The invention also relates to a method for operation of a valve device and the use thereof.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 5, 2008Publication date: June 24, 2010Applicant: PETROLEUM TECHNOLOGY COMPANY ASInventors: Oyvind Stokka, Erling Kleppa, Ole Sevheim
