    Abstract: The present invention refers to a steam ironing apparatus, which comprises a smoothing iron that is provided frontally with a nozzle 18, as well as a conduit 11 communicating with said nozzle 18 for the passage of steam therethrough; the ejection of steam from the nozzle 18 is controlled with the aid of valve means 13. The apparatus further comprises control means 17 for the actuation of the valve means 13, as well as containment means 21 for a liquid L that are in communication with the conduit 11 so that the steam flowing through the conduit 11 mixes up with the liquid L flowing in from the containment means 21 so as to produce humidified steam X12 for ejection through the nozzle 18.
