  • Patent number: 11825865
Abstract: A description is given of a tubular food casing having a fiber layer on the inside and having two or more polymer layers. The polymer layers include a first continuous polymer layer (A), with which the inner fiber layer or nonwoven-web layer is coated on the side of the tubular casing facing away from the inside, and completely covers the layer, and at least one polymer layer (B), and a monoaxially or biaxially oriented film based on polyamide and/or copolyamide. At least two of the polymer layers are joined to one another directly by a layer of adhesive. The inner fiber layer may absorb colour, smoke, aroma and/or flavour substance(s), such as liquid smoke or caramel, store these substances and transfer them to a food located within the casino. The casing is suitable as artificial sausage casing, especially for cooked-filling and scalded-emulsion sausage.

  • Publication number: 20060182851
Abstract: The invention relates to a preferably tubular food casing based on synthetic material, in particular polyamide, in which the layer, or at least one of the layers, includes at least one metal salt having antimicrobially active metal ions. The metal salt preferably includes ions of silver, copper or zinc. In the event of a multi-layered casing, the at least one outer layer comprises a said metal salt. In the production of the casing, preferably a master batch is used which comprises about 5 to 40% by weight of the metal salt. The food casing is preferably used as artificial sausage casing.

  • Patent number: 5283017
Abstract: A device and method of producing a multi-layer film composite is provided. In accordance with the device and method, a temperature-controllable or heatable roll serves as a sealing tool, on the circumferential surface of which a number of plastic film webs are sealed together under the application of pressure and heat. The plastic film webs come into contact with the circumferential surface of the roll at equal or varying distances from each other and are guided over pressure rolls. These pressure rolls are in contact with the circumferential surface of the heatable roll under pressure. The plastic film webs pass through the gaps between the pressure rolls and the heatable roll. The plastic film webs are alternately sealing layer-free or provided on one or both sides with sealing layers, which are fused by the action of heat, so that sealing of the laminated plastic film webs on the circumferential surface of the heatable roll occurs.

  • Patent number: 4940614
Abstract: A tubular food casing comprising a film which has been bent to form a tubing, the longitudinal edges of which are joined to one another by means of an adhesive tape, which forms a glued seam. The adhesive tape comprises a plurality of incisions, ending in the area of the glued seam, which extend transversely to its longitudinal direction. In the area of the incision ends, the adhesive tape is firmly bonded to the film. The bond strength between the adhesive tape and the film is greater than the tear resistance of the film.

  • Patent number: 4741938
Abstract: A web-shaped or tubular packaging film for use in food packaging applications, particularly as a sausage casing, is comprised of a carrier layer based on fiber-reinforced celulose and a closed thermoplastic, sealable resin coating based on copolymers containing vinylidene chloride (VDC) units. To improve the kink resistance, this resin coating is built up from at least two superposed layers, the first resin coating layer adjacent to the carrier layer being composed of a VDC copolymer forming flexible films and the outer, second resin coating layer being composed of a VDC copolymer forming rigid films. The web-shaped film is suitable for the production of tubular packaging casings, in particular sausage casings, with a longitudinal seam.
