  • Publication number: 20240166581
Abstract: A process and apparatus integrate recovery of propylene from a pyrolysis reactor and a paraffin dehydrogenation reactor. A stripping column for fractionating a dehydrogenation stream is coupled with a demethanizer column for fractionating a pyrolyzed stream. The stripping overhead stream comprising C2? hydrocarbons are fractionated with the pyrolyzed stream in the demethanizer column. The coupling omits the need for a conventional deethanizer column and separate refrigeration system in the propane dehydrogenation unit.

  • Publication number: 20240166580
Abstract: A process and apparatus integrate recovery of propylene from a pyrolysis reactor and a paraffin dehydrogenation reactor. A common C3 splitter column fractionates propylene product from propane recycle to a paraffin dehydrogenation reactor. The C3 hydrocarbons may be provided from a pyrolysis reactor and from a dehydrogenation reactor.

  • Publication number: 20240165551
Abstract: A process and apparatus integrate recovery of propylene from a pyrolysis reactor and a paraffin dehydrogenation reactor. The improved process for recovering light olefins utilizes heats of compression to heat reboil streams.

  • Patent number: 11534732
Abstract: A process and apparatus cool and remove catalyst from a hot vaporous reactor effluent stream by feeding the hot vaporous reactor effluent stream comprising catalyst and a first quench liquid stream to a first quench chamber. The hot vaporous reactor effluent stream is directly contacted with the first quench liquid stream to cool the hot reactor effluent stream and wash catalyst therefrom into the first quench liquid stream. The first quench liquid stream and the vaporous reactor effluent stream are passed together through a bed while disengaging catalyst from the vaporous reactor effluent stream and transferring catalyst into the first quench liquid stream.

  • Publication number: 20210277316
Abstract: A process increases the concentration of normal paraffins in a feed stream comprising separating a naphtha feed stream into a normal paraffin rich stream and a non-normal paraffin rich stream. The non-normal paraffin rich stream is isomerized over a first isomerization catalyst to convert non-normal paraffins to normal paraffins and produce a first isomerization effluent stream. An iso-C4 stream is separated from the first isomerization effluent stream and isomerized over a second isomerization catalyst to convert iso-C4 hydrocarbons to normal C4 hydrocarbons and produce a second isomerization effluent stream. The normal paraffin rich stream, the normal paraffins in the first isomerization effluent stream and/or the second isomerization effluent stream may be fed to a steam cracker.

  • Publication number: 20180334623
Abstract: A process is presented for recovering the hydrocarbon components from a naphtha feed to pass to a gasoline blending pool or to change the operations to increase the production of light olefins. The process includes the separation of the naphtha feedstock into a light naphtha stream and a heavy naphtha stream. The process further includes separating the light naphtha stream to recovery high quality non-normal hydrocarbons, and to separate normal hydrocarbons to the feed to the cracking unit.

  • Publication number: 20180327675
Abstract: A process is presented for improving the feed to a cracking unit and a reforming unit from a naphtha feedstock. The process includes the use of a separation unit to generate a light naphtha feed and a heavy naphtha feed. The process further includes separating the light naphtha feed into a light naphtha feed comprising normal hydrocarbons and a light naphtha feed comprising non-normal hydrocarbons. The light naphtha feed comprising normal hydrocarbon is passed to the cracking unit and the heavy naphtha feed is passed to the reforming unit.

  • Publication number: 20120152120
Abstract: The present invention provides a series of processing steps to remove carbon dioxide from synthesis gas. The syngas exiting a hydrogen sulfide absorber is first compressed, subjected to a dehydration step and a low temperature liquefaction and separation to remove carbon dioxide. The high pressure syngas then continues on to a carbon dioxide absorber for carbon dioxide removal. The system can operate with lower solvent rates and equipment sizes compared to prior art systems.

  • Publication number: 20110142738
Abstract: The invention covers a method for treating spent regeneration gas from one or more molecular sieve treaters, first in an amine solvent unit and then in a caustic unit. The amine solvent unit removes hydrogen sulfide and carbonyl sulfide and the caustic unit removes mercaptans. Optionally, there are additional treatments before the treated gas has met specifications for burning as a fuel or used for other purposes.
