  • Patent number: 5419269
Abstract: The present invention provides a sail boat having a single main sail having a corner between a taut luff edge and a foot edge. A snatch lock is provided at the corner for securing the corner to the bow of the boat, e.g. to U-bolt. When it is required to change tack, the corner is unhooked from the bolt, passed around the rear of the mast (16) and resecured to the bolt (46), in other words, the sail then lies on the other side of the mast and so the boat can sail away on the opposite tack.

  • Patent number: 4522349
Abstract: A fishing reel is provided with a housing having a central opening therein. An annular spool is rotatably mounted on roller bearings around the outside and a fishing line is wound around the spool. The spool is rotated by a gear wheel engaging teeth around the inside of the spool to pay out or bring in the fishing line. The gear wheel is driven by a crank handle. Brake pads are urgeable manually or with the aid of levers, against the side wall of the spool to reduce or stop the rotation of the spool.

  • Patent number: 4224904
Abstract: A carburettor for air and liquid fuel under pressure for internal combustion engines has an air/fuel mixing chamber for mixing a controlled flow of air with gasoline and optionally methanol also. The fuel is disintegrated in the mixing chamber into fine droplets by impinging on a solid surface and/or on a stream of air. The mixture is passed into a vaporizer connected to the intake manifold of the engine. A rotary sleeve valve allows or prevents additional air to be added to the mixture in the vaporizer to optimize the air/fuel ratio.
