  • Publication number: 20110017889
Abstract: A system for mounting a component in an aperture of a supporting surface has a mounting flange surrounding the component to be mounted, and at least two clamp dogs attached to the mounting flange and located adjacent a rear surface of the mounting flange. The component is inserted into a mounting hole cut in a sheet rock surface or ceiling tile, so that the flange abuts the front face of the surface. The clamping assemblies are located on the rear face of the surface. There is a pivoting system for pivoting the clamp dog around an axis. The pivoting system is operable from both the front surface and the rear surface of the mounting flange so that the clamp dogs can be actuated from either side of the sheet rock or ceiling tile.

  • Patent number: 7706515
Abstract: The present invention is an expandable multi-zone paging and signaling system. In particular, the present invention is an apparatus and method for a paging controller wherein a user can program a response to a non-audio input signal in accordance with a set of prioritized inputs to a telephone interface device. The activity status of the set of prioritized inputs of the selected telephone interface device are combined using a logical OR function. By performing the logical OR function of the activity status of various telephone interface device inputs, the non-audio output signal can be customized to provide useful interactions with other outboard equipment.

  • Publication number: 20080118088
Abstract: An audio system comprises an audio device having an output, at least one module bay, and a connector disposed within said module bay. There is at least one signal processing output module having a connector for connecting with the connector in the module bay when the signal processing output module is inserted in the module bay. The signal processing module has a signal processing circuit and the signal path through the audio device is interrupted and re-routed through the signal processing module when the module is installed in the audio device. The module may also have a dress panel with at least one input on the dress panel for connecting an input device to the signal processing module. This way, the signal processing modules do not occupy the available inputs of the audio device.

  • Patent number: 6427019
Abstract: A speaker assembly comprising a speaker housing, a speaker mounted in the housing, and at least two threaded studs connected to the housing and speaker and extending away from the external surface of the housing. The studs have an unthreaded, pointed end that is particularly suitable for piercing a ceiling tile with little effort or mess. There are at least two nuts for threading over the studs to secure the studs to a ceiling tile after the studs pierce the tile to attach the housing to the tile, and at least two wire nuts to connect amplifier wires to the tip of the studs. The speaker is mounted to a ceiling tile by piercing the tile with the studs and securing the studs to the other side of the tile with the nuts. The amplifier wires are then connected to the tips of the studs via the wire nuts.
