  • Patent number: 3973709
Abstract: The proposed surgical instrument for stitching organs with the aid of metal staples in the "end-to-end," "end-to-side" and "side-to-side" methods, with the working part of the instrument disposed exteriorly of the organs being stitched, comprises two clamps each of the clamps having two jaws for clinching and fixing the organs being stitched and pivotally interconnected at one end so that, when joined together, the joint line of the jaws of each clamp is perpendicular to the joint line of the clamps. The clamp jaws mount magazines with slots for staples, staple pushers, dies with recesses for bending the staples, as well as a device for aligning the organs being stitched longitudinally with respect to the jaws, and a means for grasping the walls of the organs being stitched.

  • Patent number: 3951138
Abstract: A device for gripping soft tissues during surgical intervention, which comprises two plates adjoining each other by way of the lateral surfaces thereof and adapted to move one along the other. The face of the longitudinal edge of one plate is provided with straight fixing needles arranged in perpendicular relationship with said face, whereas the face of the longitudinal edge of the other plate which is proximate to the face with the straight fixing needles is provided with fixing needles curved in one and the same direction opposite to the direction of withdrawal of the device from the operation wound. A clamp for clamping and immobilizing tissues and organs is composed of two halves each comprising a jaw bearing the proposed device for gripping soft tissues.

  • Patent number: 3949923
Abstract: A surgical instrument for suturing organs and tissues with metal staples which includes a supporting body with a longitudinal slot and a flat frame. The frame has a supporting jaw provided with a flat face facing the slot. The flat face of the supporting jaw has a number of depressions for the staple legs to bend. The slot accommodates the staple body with the head into which the staple magazine is inserted, and a staple ejector. The slot in the supporting body opens in a direction perpendicular to the plane of the supporting body frame, whereby it becomes possible for the staple body with the staple ejector to be inserted into and extracted from the slot in said direction.
