  • Publication number: 20140311072
Abstract: A sealing device is disclosed that discreetly seals openings in a building's siding. The sealing device comprises an elongated insulating component, configured to mate with a profile of an assembled sided wall, and secured within the voids of at least one trim channel component. The elongated insulating component is custom-shaped and cut to the exact size needed, depending on the shape and size of the assembled siding it is to be used with. The trim channel components cover a terminating edge of the assembled sided wall, and the elongated insulating component substantially fills the voids of the trim channel components along an entire longitudinal length of the assembled sided wall to help lock the siding in place, and to keep out moisture, wind, and insects, etc. The elongated insulating components can be secured within the trim channel components before or after installation of siding on the sided wall.

  • Patent number: 8343613
Abstract: Disclosed in one aspect is an anti-skid sheet comprising at least one contact layer selected from the group consisting of dynamically vulcanized alloys, propylene-?-olefin copolymers, and blends thereof; and at least one substrate layer comprising polyethylene having a density of from greater than 0.935 g/cm3. In one embodiment, the dynamically vulcanized alloy comprises a blend of one or more polyolefins and an at least partially vulcanized rubber. Disclosed in another aspect is a method of forming the anti-skid sheet comprising providing a melt-blending extruder for each of the sheet layers, at least one substrate layer as disclosed herein and at least one contact layer as disclosed herein, and co-extruding a melt of each component to form a co-extruded sheet. In a particular embodiment, the anti-skid sheet is thermoformed to form an article.

  • Patent number: 5288728
Abstract: Silver is recovered from a mixture of seasoned photoprocessing solutions by contacting the solutions with a mercapto-s-triazine or water-soluble salt thereof, the mercapto-s-triazine having the formula ##STR1## wherein: R is hydrogen, --NH.sub.4, --OH, alkyl having 1 to 8 carbon atoms, alkoxy having 1 to 8 carbon atoms, phenyl, cyclohexyl, oxazinyl, phenoxy, --NR'.sub.2 or SR";whereinR' is hydrogen, alkyl having 1 to 8 carbon atoms, phenyl, cyclohexyl, naphthyl or benzyl;and whereinR" is alkyl having 1 to 8 carbon atoms, phenyl, cyclohexyl, naphthyl or benzyl;m is an integer from 1 to 3; andn is 0 or an integer from 1 to 2.Using these compounds, silver ion complexes with the compound of formula I and the complex can be allowed to settle and separated from the solutions to decrease silver ion concentration in the solutions. The mixture of solutions includes a seasoned stabilizer solution and other seasoned solutions, including bleach, bleach-fix, and developer.

  • Patent number: 4918759
Abstract: A timekeeping cap includes a crown portion which may be placed and worn on the head of a human, a visor portion which extends from the crown portion for shade and which has a cavity which opens to the lower surface of the visor portion, and a clock which is positioned substantially within the cavity and which includes a clock face through which time may be viewed. The timekeeping cap preferably also includes some means for retaining the clock within the cavity. The clock face may be substantially flush with the lower surface of the visor portion. The individual with the cap may view the time by removing the cap from his or her head, and holding the cap out in front with the lower surface of the visor portion facing upwardly or rearwardly toward the individual's face so that the clock face can be viewed.
