    Abstract: Mineral ore pellets substantially devoid of water are disclosed which contain particles of mineral ore and an alkali metal carbonate. A method for making such pellets is also disclosed which includes mixing particulate mineral ore with an alkali metal carbonate and water to form a plastic mass, forming the plastic mass into pellets, and heating the pellets to drive off the water and provide relatively hard, moisture resistant pellets.
