    Abstract: An automated animal feeder may have a pair of traditional pet bowls, one for food and one for water, and the water bowl may be physically lifted and dumped on a timed schedule as the water bowl may be mounted upon a hinged plate which swings up to empty the water bowl at programmed intervals controlled by a programmed logic controller, and the water bowl may be refilled whenever the weight of the bowl is light enough to indicate that the bowl is not full. Food may be metered by means of a portion control hopper located beneath the food supply hopper. The programmed logic controller (PLC) allows the timing of feeding and watering to be controlled by the user.

    Abstract: A method forms a non-circular socket in a jawbone of a patient for receiving a dental implant. A pilot hole is formed in the jawbone. A framework having one or more sets of opposing drill points configured to rotate along axes that are transverse to a vertical axis is directed along the pilot hole. The framework produces the non-circular socket, which may have a series of tiers. A dental implant is inserted into the socket. The dental implant may have a series of tiered sections shaped so that each tiered section conforms to a respective one of the tiers in the socket. An abutment may be securely fastened to the dental implant.

    Abstract: Methods and apparatus for conditional deletes of storage objects are disclosed. A storage medium comprises program instructions that when executed, implement a metadata node of a storage service in which a protocol based on sequence numbers is used to resolve update conflicts. The instructions store, as part of a conditional deletion record associated with a key of a particular storage object identified as a deletion candidate, a deletion sequence number derived from a particular modification sequence number of the object. In accordance with the protocol, the instructions determine whether an additional modification sequence number larger than the deletion sequence number has been generated in response to an operation associated with the key. If such an additional sequence number has been generated, the deletion of the storage object is canceled.

With the mask in place, the protective coating may be applied to the substrate and the mask. A portion of the protective coating that overlies the mask may be delineated from other portions of the protective coating; for example, by cutting, weakening or removing material from the protective coating at locations at or adjacent to the perimeter of the mask. The portion of the protective coating that overlies the mask, and the mask, may then be removed from the substrate.

The master airfoil configuration may be radially scaled to a custom-sized turbomachine airfoil having an outer radius different than the preset outer radius of the master airfoil configuration, and/or an inner radius different than the preset inner radius of the master airfoil configuration. Tuning a frequency of the custom-sized turbomachine airfoil by changing a parameter of at least one of a part span shroud and a tip shroud may then be performed. Axial scaling may also be performed. The custom-sized turbomachine airfoil may be employed in the turbomachine without performing wheel box testing, and may exhibit substantially similar operational characteristics as the master airfoil configuration.

In one exemplary embodiment the hydraulic strut includes a main cylinder having a first closed end, a second end with an opening. A main piston slidably disposed in the main cylinder divides it into a first fluid chamber between the main piston and the first end of the main cylinder, and a second fluid chamber between the main piston and the second end of the main cylinder. An integral flow control valve is adapted to vary the flow area of the at least one orifice through the piston.
