  • Publication number: 20100119559
Abstract: Oral dosage forms of a risedronate comprised of a safe and effective amount of a pharmaceutical composition comprising risedronate, a chelating agent, and, means for effecting delayed release of the risedronate and the chelating agent in the small intestine provide immediate release of the pharmaceutical composition to the small intestine of the mammal subject and pharmaceutically effective absorption of the bisphosphonate with or without food or beverages. The present invention substantially alleviates the interaction between risedronate and food or beverages, which interaction results in the bisphosphonate active ingredient not being available for absorption. The resulting oral dosage form may thus be taken with or without food. Further, the present invention effects delivery of risedronate and the chelating agent to the small intestine, substantially alleviating the upper GI irritation associated with bisphosphonate therapies.

  • Publication number: 20100120485
Abstract: Each player earns eligibility into a bonus game by playing a primary game. The play of the bonus game occurs while each player never stops play of the primary game. During the play of the bonus game, each player has the chance to win bonus awards and competes against other players who have qualified to play the bonus game. Each player plays for his traditional pay table awards and for bonus game awards, which are predetermined or randomly selected winning outcomes which are designated as bonus game outcomes. When a qualified player matches one of the bonus game outcomes with a primary game outcome, the player wins the traditional primary game award and the bonus award associated with the bonus game outcome.

  • Publication number: 20100119704
Abstract: An advanced reflexive structure system is disclosed. The reflexive system mimics the pain withdrawal reflex on which the human body relies. The reflexive system incorporates a continuous health and performance monitoring system via an embedded dielectric film, an adaptive composite structure based on shape memory composite material, and an intelligence system which will be interfaced with both the health/performance sensors and the adaptive structure. When activated shape memory polymer will recover its structural integrity via shape recovery and a reptation healing process. These features enable the use of SMP as an adaptive structure in the proposed reflexive system. The development of a reflexive system for structures will enable increased safety and security and demonstrate a better understanding of integrated performance systems.

  • Publication number: 20100119768
Abstract: A lightweight thermoplastic core, formed from ThermoPlastic Olefin/ThermoPlastic Vulcanite (TPO/TPV) sheet machined. Said sheet is made of a TPO material that contains fillers to enhance strength and improve Coefficient of Linear Expansion (CLTE). The sheet is heated to thermoforming temperature, then formed by pressure-forming or mechanical pressing the desired shape (truss shape), forming a multi-dimensional core. Said core now is several times thicker than the input sheet. The new-formed core still has sufficient surface area to provide a sufficient bond to produce a structural panel. The core also utilizes the shape or wall formed in the Vertical Plane to create Vertical columns similar to honeycomb. The core is of sufficient strength as to handle compressive loads on all three axes: x, y, and z. Said core is ideal for application in the transportation and RV industries.

  • Patent number: 7715991
Abstract: A method for estimating an amount of damages sustained by a component operating in an energy system by monitoring the component is provided. The method includes generating a transfer function that is dependent upon an input of at least one operating condition of the component and an output of a crack-initiation time and/or a crack propagation for at least one critical region. The method further includes receiving data from at least one sensor coupled to the component, wherein the data relates to the at least one operating condition of the component, and inputting the received data from the at least one sensor into the transfer function to calculate at least one of the crack-initiation time and the crack propagation for the at least one critical region. The method also includes recording at least one of the crack-initiation time and the crack propagation on a memory storage device.

  • Patent number: 7714548
Abstract: The subject invention reveals new adaptive gate drive timing circuits that are optimal for both sufficient energy and insufficient energy conditions for optimal turn on transition timing of a power mosfet in a zero voltage switching power supply. The circuit does not rely on a rectifier connected to the drain of the power mosfet to detect the zero voltage condition of the mosfet. The circuit relies on the detection of a discharge current in a capacitance connected to the drain of the power mosfet. Turn on of the mosfet is held off while discharge current exists and the gate of the mosfet is enabled at the instant that the discharge current drops to zero. In one embodiment of the invention discharge current of the intrinsic gate drain capacitance of the mosfet is relied upon as the source of timing information.

  • Patent number: 7715903
Abstract: A guide wire (1) to assist percutaneous endovascular deployment which has zones of varying stiffness. An elongate central zone (3) of high stiffness, a proximal zone (4) of transition from high stiffness to semi-stiffness and a distal zone (5) of transition from high stiffness to being relatively flexible. The distal zone (5) has three zones, a semi stiff zone (11) adjacent the central zone, a transition zone (13) being of flexibility of from semi-stiff extending to flexible and a tip zone (15) being of high flexibility. The distal tip has a small J curve (16) to ensure that it is atraumatic in vessels and to prevent damage to the aortic heart valve. The distal zone (5) can also have a large curve to assist with anchoring the guide wire into the aortic arch.
